Worst Strawberry Shortcake Ever
Posted by Trinh9543 on 01/08/2009
I ordered a strawberry shortcake from the central location Cindi's NY Deli and Bakery for my sister's birthday. When we sat down to try it, we were all disappointed. The cake was crumbly and tasted old like it had been sitting in the cooler for a very long time (frost-bite taste). The almonds on the sides were stale and chewy. And the fruit topping was not fresh. I was really disappointed because I've heard such good things about this place. I contacted the owner, but still have not received a response. Unfortunately, I can't say I'll ever go back.

Great Deli
Posted by goodeating87 on 07/22/2008
The food here are so good and portion are so big i always have to get a togo box. The pasteries are fresh and each bite are incredible. My favorite dish at Cindis is the number 4 on the deli menu which include cornbeef, juicy pastrami top with swiss cheese and coleslaw. It is an amazing plate that anyone can enjoy. I would recommend this restaurant if you want a good lunch or dinner.

the best food in dallas
Posted by redtornado on 05/17/2008
This is the best restaurant in town, they have such a large varity of food. The bakery has fresh baked pasteries, makes your mouth water. My favorite is the patty melt & reuben. They also have daily lunch specials that are fit for a king, with large portions, believe me I walk out full. Everyone needs to try it!!!

Average at best

Went to Central location on a Saturday morning, was busy but not extreme. Being an authentic Jewish deli, I expected the bagels to be above other standards. For a plain toasted Everything bagel with a schmear of plain cream cheese, it was eh. The Everything Bagel had very little flavor which shocked me, and the toasting was a joke. For cream cheese, was handed one of those tiny processed disposable containers, which isnt enough for one side of a bagel. Breakfast plate with eggs, corned beef and tomatoes was okay.
Eggs were watery and side of tomatoes were two extremely thin sandwish slices. This seems to be a great place for older crowd that prefers soft non-flavor food.

Classic Diner Feel

I had the pleasure of having breakfast/lunch here with a few coworkers, and man was it good. I wish I lived closer to this neat little joint. I got the veggie sandwich. It was soo good. I did not get any desserts, but man did they look tempting.

Good bagels. Cheap drinks. OK service. Strange combination.

So, this is where my family loves to have breakfast. It is kind of like IHOP, but not a chain. Still has a cheap feel to it. But the food is good and they allow lots of substitutions which is nice.

Amazing Deli
Posted by huskyduck on 02/07/2005
Coming from a person who has eaten at New York's best deli's, this lil' ole place right here in Dallas is as good or better than anything in Manhattan. Portions are monstrous (It must be true that everything is BIG in Texas) and prices are unbelievably low.
Breakfasts are done especially well here. Pancakes are fluffy, thick and as big as a catcher's mitt. Omelettes come with home styled hashbrown. Come for dinner and sample the best catfish in the city off the dinner menu.
The owner is genuinely concerned about your happiness and you will always be greeted with a warm smile here. Come visit today!
