    Extremely Impressed

    Posted by lindsey_b on 09/10/2009

I work at an apartment complex about 20 minutes away from Cafe Malbis. My co-workers and myself LOVE it. Everything is incredible- the food, the staff, and the atmosphere is perfect. You can go in for a business meeting lunch or have a relaxing dinner date. The atmosphere is so versitile and comfortable. Today the office ordered lunch and I went to pick it up. One dessert was accidently left out of the bag and when I called about it the lady who answered the phone was so sincerely sorry, and about 20 minutes later one of the guys showed up with not only that particular dessert, but a complimentary 2 others. We were beyond impressed, and needless to say the desserts are the best ever as well. Cafe Malbis is definately a favorite!

I had some of the best duck I have ever had at cafe malbis. I love this little quaint cafe. I would compare the quality of the food to some of my favorite bistros and cafes in New Orleans. I give it 5 stars. The food is superb. You gotta try it yum.

I think Cafe Malbis is an awesome place to eat in Daphne. The food is wonderful and the presentation superb! Wish we had one in Gulf Shores.

    Cafe Malbis-Amazing Food!

    Posted by foodie63 on 10/30/2008

The food at Cafe Malbis is amazing, and I don't just mean for the area, I mean it is just outright good food. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. I've been there twice for lunch and twice for dinner. The reuben sandwich is so big and so delicious, I ate it both times at lunch. The mile-high chocolate cake is a must-have. The tapas are great for sharing and getting chance to try a little bit of everything the cafe has to offer. The sea bass and the crab cake are my two favorite items on the menu. The wine and beer selection are the best in the area. And all of the food and drink is so reasonably priced, I'd rather eat here than go home to cook.

    rebuttle to highway robbery

In response to the review given by this individual, it is quite evident that they know nothing about quality food and great service. I have dined at Cafe Malbis several times since they opened and have received great food and service each time. I guess this individual's idea of great food and service is a night out at Ryan's and they firmly believe that all great wines are served from a box. The food is priced just right and there is no other restaurant in the area that has the diversification on a menu as that of Cafe Malbis. The hot bar served at lunch is delicious and the entrees served in the evening are top notch. I suggest you give this place another chance.

    Daphne Local

    Posted by eshrefly on 10/30/2008

What a great find! It is great to have a local restaurant with this quality of food and service. I have eaten at Cafe Malbis for dinner twice in recent weeks and have been thoroughly impressed with the food. The variety on the dinner menu is a pleasant surprise. Last night we had the Pan Seared Pork Tenderloin and the Cabernet Skirt Steak which were both excellent and very fairly priced. For our appetizer we had the Chef's Cheese plate and were amazed at the amount of food we had for under 30$ total. One of the best new places in our area. So, nice to not have to eat chain food in this area. Great place to take out-of-town guests.

Ate at Malbis Cafe today for lunch and last night for dinner. It was GREAT! Its about time we had a local owned and operated cafe with fresh food instead of chain restaurants. The dinner menu was fantastic and very reasonably priced....I had the skirt steak with a nice cab. The wine selection is all encompassing. Ask Chef Andrew what he recommends!! Great service.......by far my favorite new local restaurant.

    Cafe Malbis- Highway Robbery

    Posted by sxygrl1981 on 10/23/2008

I am writing today because I am very disappointed in Cafe Malbis. I was excited to have a new cafe in the area, however, now that they are open, I am saddened by them. The quality of their food leaves alot to be desired. The attitude of their employees is horrendous- if I were to treat my customers the way they treat theirs, not only in the cafe, but in public, I would lose my job. I've seen them go into other businesses and treat those people as if they are better than them, and that particular business should bow down to those who are Cafe Malbis. Their prices are ridiculous- I can make their sandwiches at home for half the price and twice the taste. Thanks for your time!
