My experience was good.
Posted by JasonXT on 05/13/2009
Over all the experience was painless. I was looking for a very specific used car and they were able to locate it and at a competitive price. I got a little irritated waiting for the finance guy but they were busy and it was during peak hours so it was to be expected. Once I was in I signed for the price agreed and it was quick and to the point. There seemed to be many other customers there that were happy with the service they received. There are a lot of negative reviews and that prompted me to review this dealership. I had a good experience.

Poor service, high prices, very typical take-advantage-of-you sales people
Posted by rutherford3 on 02/06/2009
We were quoted a price for a used car that was way above the Kerry Blue Book, and after being quoted a price and following through on buying, the owner of the dealership at the last minute made a fuss about it being more, and wouldn't honor the quote we were given by the sales person. We overpayed, and it was our fault. But don't fall for their phony cordial "I'll get you a deal" fronts. They won't.

Buy at your own risk

What at first seemed like the best buying experience ever has turned into a nightmare!!! I traded in my 01 mustang gt for a new 2007 impreza sedan and started the sales process with their internet department. After coming to a price below invoice and a reasonable interest rate, my fiance and I signed papers on the car. One month later I receive a call telling me that the financing had fallen through and I needed to sign new paperwork. The new paperwork increased the interest by 1.5% and I told them "no, just give me my trade back and we'll call the deal off." I was then told"that they had already paid off the remaining loan on my trade-in and that they would not return the car to me. Also, if I didn't sign the paperwork they would take me to court for the price of the subaru and for what they paid on the trade." I signed the paperwork and thought that'd be it. One month later they repossessed my car stating that the contract was non-fundable, and that I owed them for the subaru, and the money they paid out on my trade. Granted, I should have had my financing before I walked in the door, but I never should have been treated this badly. Absolute rip off artists and strong arm tactics.

Not even worth a star!

Never buy a car from the Carr Auto Group!!! The salesman that helped me at first was alright, but that's the only good thing I can say. I walked out of finance because I've never been offended and it had nothing to do with my finances. I was racially profiled by the finance guy before I even started talking about the price of the car. The guy couldn't stop doubting me. I have never felt so belittled in my life! The guy asked me if I was of a certain race before even talking to me....oh and he asked me twice. My response was, "does it matter?" He kind of sneered, but it was all downhill from there. I suggest going to Wentworth which is family owned and not a nasty corporation that would hire a swine! In talking with a co-worker, she had a horrible experience also and ended up paying a lot more than MSRP! She even paid in cash! Needless to say I went to Wentworth and ended paying less than I expected. They are a lot more knowledgeable and courteous!

Morons & Con Artists
Posted by genieidream on 04/14/2007
This place is the WORST. The sales people are sub moronic conartists who attempted to manipulate me and guilt trip me into buying a car I couldn't afford by lying about the sticker price, convincing me to make an offer then reverting to another price point 7,000$$ higher. They then attempted to conceal this price from me and cornered me in their office where they used various wierd tactics to try to con me into signing some pseudo agreement. I've never felt so strongarmed and retail-raped in my life. Total jerks who don't seem to really know what they're doing. And who clearly prey on girls....Women, definately don't buy here, and I wouldn't recommend it for men either.

My wife and I recently purchased a car from Carr Subaru. We test drove a 2007 Outback and later decided to purchase the car. While we were working out the price I went outside to look at the car again. Someone had damaged the passenger side door while it was sitting right in front of the sales window! The car was not damaged when we drove it. This had just happened!? There was no other car like the one that we wanted so still agreed to purchase the car knowing that it was going to be fixed. The car was to look brand new and we were never going to be able to notice the dent was there. This was all in writing and agreed apon before the purchase of the car. After we bought the car my wife went to drop the car off the have the door repaired. The sales man forgot about the meeting with my wife and was not there with the loaner car that was promised. The body shop had to call down and tell them she had been waiting. They showed up later with a loaner car with absolutely no gas in it. After our car was finished they were supposed to detail it. They did a horible job of vacuuming the car and rubbed so hard on the leather seat it took some of the material off. They looked at us like we nuts and said it's a new car it's clean. They did a very poor job of fixing the door and we had to take it back a second time! I just dropped the car of yesterday and waiting for me was a beat up Forester that smelled like there was something dead inside. It was horrible. I drove the stinky car right back down and demanded another loaner. They gave me another car with absolutely no gas in it. The gas light was on and it barely made to a fill station. This is the most disappointing experience I have ever had in a customer service situation. I'm waiting for them to call me about my car so i can go pick it up again! I would never recomend this outfit to anyone. I hope that no one else has had this kind of trouble with them before. Worst service ever.

I have bought many cars here and the sales people are really nice. Service is also Top Notch. Ryan and Bob take such good care of my Subaru. Mike Wilson is really great too! They have a huge shop but still manage to get my car fixed fast!
I highly recommend Carr Subaru. You can buy a car through their internet dept or if you perfer to haggle a little - go in in person! Easy location too - right of 217.

I will never again...

deal with any brach of the Carr auto empire. I attempted to purchase in full a used automobile from them, and they were never able to make delivery of the vehicle after taking our $$. We were given a bunch of storied for almost two weeks before I finally lost my temper and demanded they refund my money in full, since they were not going to be able to deliver the car. They made us go to two OTHER Carr car lots to achieve said refund. Be very careful if dealing with these folks. I filed a complaint with the state comissioner.
