Long live a Home Grown, Organic Austin Mom and Pop Shop!
Posted by organicshopper on 04/04/2007
Wildflower is an amazing boutique!! Inspiring, creative and organically impressive! Its such a delight, witnessing a small local operation do so well in an ever-changing city!! As a native Austinite, I have seen Austin morph into many things.. some pleasant and some not so pleasant. What I don't understand is why someone would even bother writing a nasty little comment about a mom and pop shop. Silly! Wildflower is a feast for the eyes and the sales girls there are very sweet and helpful. Long live a homegrown business that isn't a giant corporation with cardboard cut-out sales staff! We love it!! Well done!!

Great customer service
Posted by amyee on 04/03/2007
I entered the Lamar Wildflower to buy a mattress with trepidation after reading the negative reviews on this site. I was ready to be critical, but was instead blown away by the woman who helped me. She was knowledgeable about the products, not pushy, got back to me via email with answers to some follow-up questions and never made me feel guilty for being economical in my decision-making (rather than trying to ?up-sell? me). It was a great experience.

Shop Walmart!

Walmart has a greeter at their door...and their prices are lower for home items. Also they are everywhere and easy to get to. So why shop any where else?

Organic baby clothing and mattresses...
Posted by softspace on 08/17/2006
Wildflower has a great selection of organic items for your little one, as well as contemporary cribs. They have recently expanded their baby collection so if its been a while stop by...and check out their organic mattresses for mom and dad while you are there.

Beautiful linens
Posted by thecocoapod on 08/05/2006
This place has beautiful linens and a lot of them are organic. The problem is that they are outrageously expensive. The sales staff is snotty and unhelpful. Some of the staff are so plain-faced they look spaced out.

If its good enough for Sandra Bullock and the first Lady its good enough for me !
Posted by trishwhite on 08/01/2006
I have shopped at Lamar on a regular basis for 6 years . Austin is lucky to have such a world class store ! I know the owners work very hard , and travel a long way to share their unique sense of style with Austin . Yes , the staff can be overwhelmed , and spread too thin , but I have never encountered rudeness , infact I find them to be very helpful and charming. some of us like to be left in peace to shop and not hounded by overzealous sales staff . Plus, you never know who you will run into at wildflower on a Saterday morning !

You're Just Going to the Wrong Wildflower
Posted by tomster on 07/31/2006
The Wildflower at the Davenport location provides a much more pleasant shopping experience. The sales assistant at this location is friendly, knowledgeable and extremely courteous. She pretty much is in charge of the entire show, including inventory purchase decisions, and her taste in fine interior decorations is extraordinary. Anyone. including the extremely particular folks that live in this rather exclusive area of town, would be proud to adorn their homes with Wildflower's products.
By the way. I am not one of the fortunate few who can afford to shop regularly at this store. Still, I'm treated with patience and courtesy. If the staff at the Lamar location has turned you off then by all means give the Davanport location a try.

Arrogant Staff With Nice Showroom
Posted by austin_designer on 07/15/2006
This staff is the worst I have ever experienced! The showroom floor is nice, so I would look but then be sure to buy some where else! All their merchandise can be purchased elsewhere and with a nice attitude and smile. Also, if you are not having a good day and want to shop and buy to make your day better, DO NOT SHOP HERE! It will make your day worse! How a place like this can stay in business with no consumer respect and courtesy perplexes me! Happy shopping elsewhere!

Pretty stuff, but the snottiest service in Austin
Posted by lilstirfry on 06/11/2006
The stuff they have, although pricey, is of excellent quality and I can't deny that I LOVE all of it. However, the rudeness and indifference of the staff was shocking. I think it's definitely the kind of store where people without the means would still go for a splurge - and I was ready to splurge! But they were so stuck up I left and vowed never to return. I ended up going to their other location in Davenport Ranch yesterday (with much trepidation), but the lady there was much nicer and helpful and even acknowledged that the prices for some of their linens were exorbitant. I felt comfortable and I bought the most luxurious sheets I have ever owned and I plan to go back for the matching shams today.
