Lovely if you enjoy caulking paste and day old bread.

These cupcakes are over-priced and over-hyped.
I love you, Oprah, but these are just not very good. The cake itself is pretty dense and flavorless, and the icing is just disgusting. Even at a lower price point, this is one dessert that is certainly not worth lining up for 30 minutes. Sorry!

Honest Review
Posted by miua on 09/19/2009
My daughter drives from Covina to Beveryly Hills for their cupcakes, so I happened to be out there an thought why not?? I ordered black/white(good), red velvet and lemon(not very lemony). I wish I went when they baked Pumpkin! My favorite was the 'Red Velvet' the frosting is just a little too sweet, lighten up on the sugar and I think you will do even better.

Best Red Velvet cup cake!
Posted by flaljee on 08/13/2009
This is perhaps the best cup cake place in all of Los Angeles. The red velvet cup cake particularly is a must-have. Service is quick, but the lines are super long. Be prepared to wait anywhere from 15 mins on a week night to almost an hour on weekends. Cup Cakes are pricier here than other places at around $4.50. Parking is available on the street or at a parking garage nearby.
The reason this place got 4 stars in my book - because they don't have a decent seating area. Very crowded and there is standing room if that. Lines form down the block sometimes. Once you purchase, your best option is to either wolf it down in a corner or take it to go.

Best Cupcakes EVER!
Posted by persianturquoise on 08/12/2009
This place has the most amazing red velvet cupcakes I have ever tried. Nothing is comprable. Not Yummy cupcakes, not even Magnolia which Sprinkles was reportedly designed after. If you're in the LA area, you have to make a stop here. Seriously their red velvet cupcakes are life changing.

Mixed up??
Posted by Butta on 03/25/2009
I've heard about sprinkles from many friends. So I drove over 30 miles to get to sprinkles cupcakes. Just a reminder, I was celebrating my birthday weekend. I ordered a dozen cupcakes just 2 days before my scheduled pickup. I actually spoke to a live person at the Beverly Hills location. When I arrive to pick up my cupcakes, an employee tells me that they have NO order for me for pickup that day! An employee did find my order, but it was in the computer for pickup the following weekend. I was compansated, but that was just a little distrubing! :(

Muffin-y tasting
Posted by goaliegirl on 02/03/2009
My roommate works for the State of California and travels from Ventura down to LA frequently. On one of her last jaunts, she told me that Sprinkles was down the street and asked if I would like to try their cupcakes. Me, being a total sweets lover, told her to get a box full. She obliged!
She came home with fresh-out-of-the-oven cupcakes that were totally adorable. There was a strawberry one, a lemony one, chocolate, etc. I think there was even an orange one in there. So we sat down at our kitchen table and started chowing down... and we both stopped halfway through our giant sized cupcakes. She said hers tasted like a strawberry muffin - not soft and airy, but heavy and thick. My chocolate one tasted like a Costco muffin. The frosting tasted like it was full of preservatives. Almost a little acidic. It wasn't bad - but it wasn't what either of us were expecting, either. We traded the other and tried another bite. Consensus was the same.
We left the table dissatisfied and short a good amount of money (they're not cheap!). I would eat them again, but I won't be as excited until they taste a little less like muffins and more like soft and airy cupcakes. The decoration and colors are totally cute, though.

Sprinkles cupcakes are a real treat. Nothing beats fresh-baked goodies made from scratch, and these cupcakes almost qualify as a meal they're so rich and good.
