Great place for a special occasion
Posted by myfavmom on 09/28/2009
We have been here twice. Each time I ordered the scallops from the "romancing the stone" menu, but I had them cook them in the kitchen and they were perfect! Best texture ever and cooked to perfection. The Iceberg wedge is great also, they even split it for us in the kitchen.

Not impressed
Posted by ParkerMom on 09/17/2009
This definitely is not Mortons, Brooks or The Palm. Not even close.
We sat for 5 minutes before our friendly waitress came over. Another 5 before we got bread. Then the waitress came back to take our order. After that someone filled our water glasses. Then 10 minutes later we got the drinks we ordered.
We ordered cooked meals. A pricey filet and an average fish dish. There wasn't a lot of food so we were expecting a "wow" factor to the taste. No such luck. Ordered dessert. $9 for a small, average bananas foster and $8 for a cupcake sized chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream.
The atmosphere was lacking as well. It looked like a fancy new IHOP. It was dark which didn't add to the ambiance like it does in most places.
Our bill was $99.00 on three drinks, two entrees and two desserts, all of which failed to impress us. We won't be back.

Great restaurant
Posted by usanettom on 04/19/2009
I love Trapper's. I've been there now 5 times (including once with several people from my company from out of town) and I have never been disappointed.
The best feature is the 'Romancing the Stone' where they bring you a hot stone and a seared steak, and you cook the steak to your taste at the table. The beef is the best I've had at any steakhouse.
I've seen some of the other reviews. Yes, it's a tad hard to find if you cannot read signs. It's at the top of the Holiday Inn and has its own entrance from the outside with an elevator that exits into the restaurant.
The service is spectacular! The most recent time we went there was during 5280 week (we didn't know it when we went in) and even though we didn't have a reservation and the place was packed, we still got to sit and have dinner w/o a wait. Also, our waitress was very attentive, friendly and chatted with us even though she was slammed.
The atmosphere is very nice. I don't understand the one reviewer who said it was loud. I've never noticed except on the night it was so packed. Even then, I could still here the singer.
I do NOT recommend taking small children there. If you have older kids (probably 7 and up) you should be ok, but there is no kids menu and it's not really a 'family friendly' place. Our first time there we took our then 2 year old and although the staff was very attentive, you could tell they just were not prepared for children that age. However, if you do have small children, this is a wonderful excuse to go out w/o them!

Had Better at Outback
Posted by dkpeppard on 01/04/2009
I don't mind spending my hard earned money for fine dining, but I didn't think this place was worth the price. I didn't leave there saying "Wow!" It was just average, very average. The ambiance was nice and our waiter was very attentive, I just didn't think the food was all that great. I know I would not return to this restaurant. I'd rather give my money to Bonefish Grill, that place left me saying Wow!

WOW!!! What a find.

My girlfriend and I had been hearing about Trappers for a long time and finally decided to try it out. I never knew cooking on a stone would be so much fun. Our server was very professional and made our visit enjoyable. He recommended the "romancing the stone" special and was very detailed on how to prepare it and made sure we were having a good time, too bad we can't remember his name. The Filet and Ahi Tuna combination is amazing!!! Our server told his manager that it was our first time visiting Trappers. The manager Logan stopped by and thanked us personally for our patronage. What a great place. I can't believe that a restaurant like this is in Parker. I highly recommend it and will definitely be coming back. By the way, if you have time stop in the bar for an after dinner drink, it is a very fun and lively atmosphere.

Never Eaten There ! So Ignore the Stars !
Posted by ShowMeTheMoney1 on 08/23/2008
While I have never personally eaten at Trapper's Chop House, I have been following the Tom Martino story about the alleged events that occurred there. I can't comment on the truthfulness of his allegations (posted on his Troubleshooter website), but I can comment on my experience with the Troubleshooter antics.
I visited his website to review his Referral list. I contacted one of the companies that he recommended (His website indicated how many complaints each company had received and successfully resolved). I was pleased that this company did not have any previous complaints against it. Or so I thought.
You can guess it. I did have a complaint, but it was successfully resolved. So after I few weeks I revisited the website via Troubleshooter and found to my amazement that the company's info on Troubleshooter indicated no complaints received in the last year. I made two inquiries over the next few weeks about this issue -- but was not successful in getting the company's profile corrected. Easily, it could have been an oversight the first time, but when pointed out twice -- I could not believe that this unblemished record was still be posted by the Troubleshooter. I no longer check the TroubleShooter referral list.

One of a kind steak house
Posted by Parkernative on 08/08/2008
Trappers Chop House is one of the best places in Colorado, what sets this a part from anywhere else is the Manager and the staff. If you have been to Trappers you would know what I am talking about. This whole story with Logan at Trappers has gone too far. Logan is what makes the place (that is why the MARTINO"S choose this place), there are a lot of women that go to Trappers just to see Logan and the bartenders. Does that sound like a place where women are being sexually harassed? I don?t think so. Logan makes women feel good about themselves in a sensitive non aggressive way and that is what happened to Holly Martino, she felt good and Tom Martino couldn't handle it. It is said what people will do in order to make them feel better or bigger. Tom has now used his talk show for personal reasons and not about the consumers and the real issues going on in Colorado. Enough is enough........ People need to stand up for their side of the story and take Tom Martino down and out of Colorado.

Greatest place around!

WOW! From the comment made (2 below this one) I have nothing to say but this. They said...."take a good looking woman to Trappers and....." Well, well, well, if you have seen what the women (that Tom Martino was referencing to) looked like, you will realise that they were far from good looking, so I guess you'll have no problem. The manager LOGAN that they also referenced, has a beautiful wife and children and would never do anything to jeopordise what he has. Unfortunately in life, you can not always choose what is said about you, no matter how false or ridiculous it may be. Do not be fooled, this restaurant (AND ITS NEW OWNERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT) is beyond exceptional. You will feel welcomed like family and leave satisfied and in great spirits. Awesome staff, great food, beautiful ambiance- a real "great night out". Don't ever let a disgruntled little man with ulterior motives take away from a fantastic experience right there in Parker. Keep it going Trappers Chophouse, you're still our number 1! Oh, and we love the "steak on the stone"....awesome!

An all around great place!

Trapper's has been and will remain my favorite hot spot for great food and entertainment. Everyone I take there leaves raving about the food, staff and the atmosphere.
The food is the best in the area with excellent choices on the menu for whatever it is you are craving.
The staff is friendly, outgoing and genuine in their fondness for customers that keep coming back! Not to mention their ability to create an atmosphere that the hottest bars in Denver can't even keep up with ... a stellar set of personalities behind the bar will leave you wanting more!
And, if you are worried about any stupid rumors/lies you may have heard about the manager and bar staff (like the one the blower big deal posted below) I urge you to check it out for yourself and can guarantee that you will leave there loving it as much as the rest of us do!

Take a good looking woman in here and she is likely to be groped, grabbed on the butt - Breast Fondled, or Made passes to by manager LOGAN
