Ramona Tire & Automotive Service Centers

I have been taking my car for oil changes to this Ramona Tire shop since I bought it in 2015. I was surprised to be told by the service rep that the maker of my car "REQUIRED" synthetic oil. I told him I had been taking it to this shop for sometime now and this was the first time someone ever said that. I decided to go against this "requirement, so he told me he was placing a note on my profile in case there was ever engine trouble. While my oil was being changed with the regular oil, I searched for my car makers owners manual, but I could not find anything that said to only use synthetic oil. I then decided to call the dealership maintenance shop where I bought it and I was told that was not a requirement nor a recommendation by the auto maker. I was so disappointed as I had enjoyed taking my vehicle there for a long time. On my way out I spoke to the store manager who "assured" me he would speak to his employee.
Wow, what a way to upsale! I am sure this service rep has done this to many females like me that don't know much about this kind of stuff. He definitely didn't get away with it this time around though! Bad business tactics!!!

Wow, what can I say. This is the best auto shop establishment I have ever had the pleasure of working with, bar none. We were traveling from Tucson to Whittier on a Friday when Nissan Frontier broke down in Desert Center with a hard to diagnose problem of hopping when accelerating over 40 mph. When I called some shops in Indio to have the car towed the staff at Ramona Tire & Automotive were very excited to receive me when 3 others said they were too busy to help.



We had the truck towed to the shop and the mechanic, Stefan, immediately set to work reproducing the problem and troubleshooting. Based on the symptoms and the OBD codes they suggested we replace the knock sensor. I was worried we would have to continue our trip into Whittier without the truck and the compound the problem they would not be open on Sunday when we came back through. The shop manager, Nick, promised to stay after hours to resolve our issue and get us back on the road. The shop normally closed at 6pm and they stayed open until 8:30p to replace the sensor.



As it turned out the sensor was not the issue and rather then tell me it was my problem to solve, Nick and Stefan got us to the Airport in Palm Springs to get a rental car and get the job finished in the morning. The next morning they had solved the problem which turned out to be the Distributor assembly. Since my appointment did not let out until 5pm and the shop closed at 5pm and they are not open on Sunday, I was worried about getting the car back. Nick stayed open until 8:30pm again to turn the truck over to us and accept the rental car return.



When I went to pay the bill, Nick had also worked with me to reduce many of the costs based on the first diagnosis not working out as we had hoped.



A truly GREAT experience. Never have I felt like I was treated with more respect and honest care for my welfare and plans than at Ramona Tire and Automotive. If they were any closer to Tucson I would switch to them for all of my automotive needs and will be looking to them for all my on the road needs when traveling in the area. My most sincere and heart felt thanks to you Nick, Stefan, and the rest of the crew.
