I am a straight, happily married woman and I love the Ten Bar. The people are very nice and the drinks are GREAT! It has a very relaxed atmosphere that I always feel comfortable in. I go to the 10 with gay and straight friends and I always have a good time. A lot of straight clubs these days are nothing but a fashion show. I hate the commercialism of these places and normally leave after a short period of time. The wings at the Ten have to best in town and the drinks are affordable. You don't have to know the latest dance moves to have a good time. Its an all around great place to go to have fun and just relax.
Cheryl has put in new carpeting and new tile in the womens bathroom. There are also drink specials every night of the week. Men, women, gay, straight, trans, bi, fat, skinny, ugly, pretty, sane and insane all welcome. She bends over backwards to give people a second, third, fourth chance. The only fault she has is letting people step all over her because they want to party at her club without any money. Someday when The 10 isn't here anymore, people will realize what a legacy this place is. The 10 has lasted longer the T.V. show "Gunsmoke". Before you get to judgemental about the The 10, remember I am a regular and I see you all there on long weekends and News Years Eve.
Like many business it has it flaws but at the end of the day, you know where you can go for great music and a smile.
The ten bar needs to step into the 21st century. Here's an idea, put some money back into the bar. In the way of paint, carpet, tables, lcd tv's, bigger bathrooms and an overall atmosphere that is not dark and dingy. How about opening the windows up to let some natural light in? How about getting some better looking bartenders? I think that the toothless wonder is past her prime. The older lady on the opposite end needs to livin things up without having her daughter next to her that is unpleasant to serve the customers. It would be helpful if you get rid of those front door individuals that don't know there head in the hole in the ground. I understand that it is a friendly atmosphere but all of the workers are past their prime. This is no way a cheers set up.

This place was so unsanitary. I was a performer, and they had NO dressing room & I got CRABS from the bathroom while changing (yes, they are hoppers). This place was so gross. People were super friendly, but the place was just so dirty & creepy!

club ten is the worst gay club that i have been too. the owners are two old ugly fat ladies who have no idea what they are doing. The music sucked... and no one in there was half decent looking. The lady making drinks didn't put enough alcohol in them and charged too much. the pool table (only one) looked like they got it out of the garbage and took $hits all over it. It upset me that one of the only gay clubs around that area was not even worth going to. The owners were also not friendly and treated their customers poorly. i guess if your desperite enough to want to waste your $10 on a sh*thole with cops sitting outside making fun of gaypeople then go ahead! I sure wouldn't.
The staff at The Ten goes beyond the call of duty when it comes to treating their customers right. You won't find a more loyal following and exceptionally talented dancers and singers anywhere else in town. Don't follow the drama, follow the 10. My favorite for the past five years is Sinician Moni. What a performance both on and off the stage. Blessed Be!
