Great Vet Clinic. Friendly knowledgeable staff. They got my sick puppy in very quickly, diagnosed that he had swallowed a chew bone that got stuck in his intestine. Dr Lindsley did surgery to remove it all in the same day. My puppy is doing well but no more chew bones. They will be my veterinary clinic from now on.
The Paw Patch Place is wonderful. I took my aged kitty there to find out what was wrong with him and both doctors were very friendly and helpful. We talked about taking some blood first to see what is going on inside. I agreed to this but was cautious because I was worried about the cost. Dr. Dowden explained the importance and everything it included and it was a lot stuff for not that much. One day later I got my answer my aged kitty was hyperthyroid... I was shocked and confused but was able to ask the doctor and get answers, she explained everything to me so that I understood. No big words it was great!!! So now my kitty is on medication for his issue and all is well for now. The staff is very helpful and I love that I am given the best care for my kitty.

I see the reviews on this place are very mixed. I too, have been a former patient of the Paw Patch. I originally came to the new location because I heard that the vet there was ""holistic"" (Dr. Dowden). It was not exactly the case, she is pretty traditional as far as vets go. And now she has several other very young vets working there who try and scare you and sell you every test under the sun. But this has been my experience at other vet's offices too. You have to hold firm, STUDY in advance, KNOW which tests you will and won't give your cat or dog and stick to your guns! Sometimes the front desk staff is very ""tense"" there's tension in the air and I'm sure it's related to ""office politics"" so sometimes they are not very friendly, other times they are. I like the place because of the location and that me and my dog can walk there and I like frequenting area businesses. But if another vet which truly was ""holistic"" in practice would pop up nearby, I'd probably switch. I have no firm loyalties here....

I've been going to this clinic for 20 years, first as the Paw Patch then Paw Patch Place. Everyone is terrific from the doctors to the receptionists. I'm not sure why the 2 negatives reviews but I think there must have been some misunderstanding because they never do anything without my permission and they are always friendly and informative. I have recommended it to dozens of friends and neighbors and there's never been a complaint.
Was just in for my cat's annual - great visit!

I am so upset with the service I received. One particular vet claims to be ""holistically integrated"" but absolutely is NOT! When I took my dogs in for unrelated circumstances, they would administer shots without my consent. The vet was neither friendly nor informative. I was so upset; I just don't want this to happen to someone else who is trying to care for their pets holistically.
The other experience I had sounds very similar to the other reviewer.
Please be warned should you take your pets to this establishment.

I TRIED TO HAVE 1800 PET MEDS REFILL A PRESCRIPTION THAT I HAD ORIGINALLY GOTTEN FROM THIS VET CLINIC. NOT ONLY WAS I LIED TO BY THE VET BUT SHE WAS RUDE AND HAD HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
SHE STATED THAT THE MEDICATION COMPANY REFUSED TO LET HER WRITE A PRESCRIPTION UNLESS SHE HAD AN OFFICE VISIT AND BLOOD WORK DONE ON THE DOGS.
I TOLD HER THIS OFFICE HAD DONE THAT THE FIRST TIME AND SINCE I HAD GIVEN THE DOGS THE MEDICATION WITH NO MISSED DOSES THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE HEART WORMS. SHE STATED AGAIN THAT IT WAS A COMPANY RULE AND THAT THE MEDICATION WAS NOT ALWAYS EFFECTIVE.
I TOLD HER AND THE RECEPTIONIST THAT THIS SOUNDED ODD THAT A COMPANY DICTATED TO A VET IF SHE COULD OR COULD NOT WRITE A PRESCRIPTION. THE VET (FEMALE WITH SHORT DARK HAIR) GOT UP AND LEFT WITH OUT EVER SAYING ANYTHING ELSE) LEAVING THE RECEPTIONIST THERE ALONE WITH ME.
THE RECEPTIONIST THEN TOLD ME THE REAL REASON. THAT THE MEDICATION COMPANY WOULD NOT PAY FOR VET BILLS IF THE DOGS HAD HEART WORMS IF THE VET DID NOT DO BLOOD WORK EVERY YEAR. SO IT WAS ABOUT MONEY.
I ASSURED THE VET CLINIC I WAS NOT GOING TO GO AFTER A MEDICATION COMPANY FOR ANY REASON AND IF MY DOGS GOT SICK I WOULD PAY FOR IT MYSELF ANYWAY. THUS REMOVING THE NEED FOR AN OFFICE VISIT. I WAS TOLD NO THEY WOULD NOT FILL THE MEDICATION. I ASKED HOW MUCH FOR THE VISIT. 40 FOR EACH DOG. 40 AND 30 FOR EACH DOG FOR THE BLOOD WORK. 15 DOLLARS FOR SHOTS . SHE THEN INFORMED ME ABOUT 100 DOLLARS TOTAL FOR THE SHOTS. THEN THE COST OF THE MEDICATION I WAS ORIGINALLY SEEKING. THUS TO REFILL THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN OVER 600 DOLLARS.
PAW PATCH PLACE YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. YOU LIED AND CHEATED. YOU TRIED TO MAKE ME FEEL LIKE A BAD OWNER AND GUILT ME INTO DOING THIS WORK WHEN IT WAS NOT NEEDED EXCEPT TO LINE YOUR POCKETS. I WOULD HAVE CONTINUED TO BRING MY PETS THERE BUT NEVER AGAIN.
NOTE I FOUND A VET ON THE EAST SIDE WHO CALLED IN THE PRESCRIPTION AND WAS HONEST WITH ME ABOUT THE PROBLEMS AND CONCERNS. HE NOW HAS MY BUSINESS AND NOT YOU.
PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS

I have been going to the Paw Patch since it was at its original location on College and Kessler. When it came under new management and moved to its new location at 4850 North College, I continued to take my animals there. I have done a price comparison and have found that the prices are some of the best in the city. Far better than any other clinic in the Broad Ripple area. The staff is very helpful and attentive. The Vets are second to none and are versed in all of the current research and information regarding Veterinary Science. I recommend the Broad Ripple Paw Patch to anyone who is looking for a vat clinic.

I just switched to these folks for my vet services, after having a positive but nonetheless too expensive relationship with another Broad Ripple clinic. I like the staff, I like the vets, and the bill was the most reasonable I've gotten in a long time from a vet's office. It's a great place, and I honestly cannot fathom how the other reviewer managed to have such a bad experience with such good folks. My dog liked it, I liked it, and I'll be taking my cat too (and he'll probably like it as much as a cat can like things that aren't food/toys/attention) :-) Great vet!!

The College Avenue Paw Patch location is now Paw Patch Place, and it has gone downhill. This last time I had to bring my pet in, the staff didn't even greet me. There were 4 women at the front, and every one of them just stared blankly at me even after I said my name and appointment time. They left me standing there, and when I finally got in the exam room, the assistant was kind of rough with my cat. They told me I needed a bunch of things and didn't really give me an option to say ""no"". Made me feel like a bad pet owner if I didn't want everything! At checkout, the bill was OUTRAGEOUS. When I questioned the receptionist about the charges she didn't have any answers, wouldn't look me in the eye, and just demanded payment. Go to Dr Tysklind at the other Paw Patch, or Noah's on the NE side.
