Giovanni Brothers Concrete

Don't hire Giovanni Brothers, unless you want headaches and aggravation. We hired them to lay concrete at the end of our drive. We paid in full after the pouring was done, but afterwards they left a large canvas bag full of hardened material on our yard next to the street. When we asked them to take it away, at first they assured us they'd do so, even saying when they'd get it done. But they kept putting it off. Weeks passed, then months. We didn't let them forget, with dozens of phone calls and messages. Eventually they just stopped returning our calls, stopped responding at all. At this point, they clearly have no intention of removing their bag from our yard, we are being ignored, and apparently they just don't care.

It has been several months and the bag is still there on our yard, on now-dead grass, an eyesore. It is full of heavy material, not something we can lift or move ourselves. Even if we could move it, we can't just put it in the household trash. It's heavy construction debris. Our only alternative would be to hire someone else with the necessary equipment to haul it away and dispose of it, at a cost of hundreds of dollars. Giovanni Brothers is well aware of this, and has acknowledged that removing their materials from the jobsite is their responsibility. They are the concrete contractors, they have the equipment, they know where and how to dispose of it. They just chose not to follow through on that obligation, once they were paid.

They should not have put us in this position. The hassle of dealing with an unwanted bag of heavy material on our yard has been compounded by the frustration of trying, again and again, to get Giovanni Brothers to finish what they agreed to do. It has been a source of continual aggravation. Giovanni Brothers is unreliable, unprofessional, unresponsive, and completely lacking in basic customer service.
