They where always hard to pull away at quitting time always proud of what they had learnt and the staff had a plan every day .Couldn't say they had a favor of teacher's yes I say teacher's the gal's there taught my girl's so well when kindergarten came about their teacher's was amazed at their level already wriing the name's and sentence's knew their abc's and more . I give all the credit to Ms Dena, she gave so much for the girl's .Today 2 yr's later the girl's still want to go and visit .

The State of Indiana requires that each staff member has a background check. In fact, it is one of the first things they look for, when they makes their physical checks of any licensed day care center. So no, a convicted felon could never work at any licensed child care center in Indiana. Nevertheless, after 30 years of caring for tens of thousands of children, they must be doing something right. In fact, i think that is the longest serving daycare in the city. As i went there when it first opened in 1974, and my daughter now takes my granddaughter there.

I have been taking my son to Dena's for 2 weeks now. They have been nothing but wonderful to my son. I asked them about the previous review and was told what I already figured. They monitor my son closely and always know what is going on with him during the day. He is always happy to be dropped off and I have a hard time getting him to leave. I think that says more than anything else I could put into words. He hugs the teachers and they treat him with genuine affection. They are always glad to see him. I would recommend this daycare to any of my friends and family.

Has a child care provider working there convicted of neglect of a dependant. Do they not do backgound checks?
i put my two year old in this daycare center a few months ago on a last minute decision. I was starting work that morning and needed to find a place quick. when i arrived to pick up my son at the end of the day there was an infant sitting behind the front desk unattended. the poor thing was covered in spit up and no one was around. anyone could have walked in and took her, because there was unlimited access through the front doors. after only two days my son had pink eye and the flu. i understnd that kids do get sick anywhere they attend daycare..it happens, but after 2 days?... also i observed that when i went to pick up my son he was outside with one of the other teachers playing. when the main teaher saw me come in she went to get him for me (he didnt know i was there yet) and he started crying and said no to the teacher then proceeded to run to a different teacher. my son doesnt do this unless there was a certain incident where he became afraid of that person. other then that the daycare reaks of urine, and there is a staff to child ratio of 1 to 10. do not take your kids here please!! I also want to add that there is a concern i think for most parents that a daycare center will drug your child with nyquil or something to quiet them down...well when i did pick up my son he did not act like himself at all, he would be dazed out of his mind and when we would get home he would go to his room and lay on his bed..just way out of the ordinary stuff!! just be aware.
