Indian River Veterinary Clinic

I've been making the 500 mile round trip to the Indian River Clinic for years because Of Dr. Heidi Dirkse. She is so kind and gentle with Bailey, my Alaskan Malamute. When Bailey see's Dr. Heidi she can't contain herself - it's a love-fest! She never rushes you and will take all the time needed for the owner to fully understand whatever the issue may be. She will make time for you no matter how busy her schedule is. I can't say enough about how great she and her staff are. I would HIGHLY recommend her!

I have been taking my dog to Indian River Veterinary Clinic for many years and I couldn't be more pleased with the care we receive! The staff is truly there for the animals and their commitment to providing and maintaining quality of life is very evident.

I live in Indian River, but come from Indianapolis! I have never had such a wonderful experience with a veterinarian practice! Both Dr Dirsky and Ginop have been wonderful with my dogs and me! They have worked me in when needed, calmed down my fears and helped me make the best decisions regarding Taffy and Finn. Their staff know when my dogs have an emergency situation and quickly act to make sure my dogs get the best treatment and experience! Karen Bissonette

Couldn't be bothered to give my cat preventative care... Did take the time to relieve me of $230 for a visit. Veterinary medicine is not their forte. Couldn't recommend taking a pet to a different vet strongly enough. Too bad zero stars isn't among the options.

We have had excellent experiences with the Indian River Veterinary Clinic. We have taken all our pets there for many years. Currently we have one dog and two cats, all receive great care from Dr. Dirkse (director), Dr. Ginop and staff. They are compassionate, caring, professional and knowledgeable.

No compassion at all with this vet. My cat died after an allergic reaction to the rabies vaccine. I to go to an after hours clinic in Ceboygan because the office was closed. After my kitty wasn't eating I called Indian River to be seen, was a work in. Cat was kept overnight because of a high temp and dehydration (holiday weekend). She was sent home the next day, iv had falling out during the night and she was no better the next day. After not eating or drinking for almost 3 days called to be reseen and was told they had no appts available. Very upset with this, had to return to the afterhours clinic and was told my kitty was dying. She passed away 4 days later at only 15 mos of age. Hardest thing I ever had to go through and I've had several pets over the years, but never had a vet like this one before. The girl at the front desk was no better, have to wonder who is running the office her or the vet.

I am not sure who would let these HEARTLESS people run a buisness??? We were visiting from out of town and our dog ate poison and we brought him to this "Vet" (I use the term VERY lightly!!!!!!!!!!) THEY CLOSED FOR THE NIGHT WITHOUT ALERTING US OF HIS PROGRESS!!!!!! We did not know if the dog was dead or alive?!?!?!?!?! No answering machine no emergency phone number! These "people" should not be in buisness!
