Apollo Animal Hospital & Pet Resort

We thought our little dog Joey wasn't going to make it. We had been with another pet clinic for quite some time but chose to try Apollo Pet Hospital instead. I can't tell you what a relief it was to get the care our puppy needed. In his current state at the time, they advised hospice care following blood work, a thorough exam and review of current records. We tried our best to prepare for at that time, what was inevitable. During the course of the following two weeks, they asked us to bring Joey in on a daily basis.
Based on their continued assessments and discussions with my husband and myself and with each other, their treatments included infusions of IV fluids subdurally, Joey staying in an oxygen tent for a few hours, giving antibiotics and other medications to him, prescribing medications for home, giving us clear instructions on when to give the medications and how and what to feed Joey and answered all questions - sometimes more than once with gentle kindness. They spent TIME with us to make sure we understood what needed to be done. I felt so supported by Dr. McManis and Dr. Arms and by the staff - all knowledgeable, kind, and caring. I don't know what we would have done without them - we were and are a team. We highly, highly recommend this clinic.

We've been using Apollo for at least 20 years for our pets and they have always received excellent care. The Dr's and staff have always been professional and conscientious.

I've been taking my cat here for years, ever since we moved to Huntsville back in the early part of the 2000s. The last time I was there, I noticed the Dr.'s diploma hanging on the wall - it was from some time in the 60s. So the Dr. here has been practicing for nearly 50 years, which is crazy awesome. In that amount of time, I have to believe he's seen nearly everything.



Regardless, I never have any issues taking my cat here and would highly recommend it, especially if you want an experienced Dr to look after your animal.

I do not recommend this facility. Upon threat of legal action, I am revising my initial review to simply say this: I do not recommend this facility for owners of infirm or elderly animals, as the paid care received by our 13-year-old dog (who suffers from a bad back and weak legs) last Thanksgiving was highly unsatisfactory. Our queries after the fact were met with equally unsatisfactory response -- now including a threat of legal action for voicing my OPINION on a public forum designed to help customers make informed decisions about the care of their beloved pets.
