fantastic haircut, friendly people, fun time! this was my first haircut at this shop, terry the barber is real friendly and the shop has a down-home atmosphere with a TV - on the sports channnel. a real friendly dog came up and greeted me when i went in, and he brought a tennis ball for me to play with him while i waited - groovy! there was another guy in the barberchair getting finished off, with combing him up real neat looking and then some hairspray - he got out of the chair with a good haircut. i then got in the barberchair, and explained how i wanted it cut, and terry wet down may hair with water spray and started barbering, cutting to a decent length for about 10 min,, trimming the sides and back of neck with an electric razor, and then did a blow-dry and combing it up real neat looking with a good part, and finished me off with using some hairspray that really gave it the well groomed look. after 20 min, i got out of the chair with the clean cut look of a good classic haircut. cost was a reasonable $13, and convenient parking in front. both terry and his dog are very outgoing - it was a fun visit for getting a groovy haircut! would recommend calling to check on hours he will be open during the week, it can vary each week. would recommend McCay's barbershop to you for a dogg'on decent haircut - check it out

i've been to this shop several times to get a haircut, there are several different guys that cut here and usually at least 3 on any given day, so waiting isn't very long. i'v got different barbers on different days - they seem to listen to the way you want it cut, and do a good job of following through. they all seem to be pretty decent with various haircut styles, as i have seen a lot of different guys get different kind of cuts here, and they seem to end up looking decent. with my medium lenght traditional haircut, they use a water spray to wet it down and then do the cut, comb it up neat looking with a clean part, and then use some hairspray to keep it looking groomed up and in place. they also do a neck shave that gives the clean-cut look. i have always walked out of the barbershop looking better than when i went in, with a decent looking cut that stayed in place pretty well. usually takes 15-20 min in the chair for a cut.
