What a great dinner! The food was excellent. I started with the creamy mushroom soup. But, i was a little thrown off when the waiter set a bowl in front of me with no liquid and just a few vegetable looking things in it. Then, he poured the soup from a separate carafe. A bit of a strange format, but didn't change he taste. Also, I had the scallops special- it was wonderful. Another in our party had the Caprese, which is basically like bruschetta without the bread, and Pappardelle, a pasta and mild sausage dish. She claimed that it was very good. The other in our party started with Caesar salad, then had Gnocchi with red sauce. Also claimed the food to be great. Finished off the night with cheesecake with caramel and coffee- both of which we're really good.
The service was excellent. Very attentive wait staff who really seemed to want to make our experience a positive one. The only drawback is the ambient noise. We sat in the room to the rear which is sort of circular shaped. It was very easy to hear other conversations going on during the lulls in our own conversation. Certainly not a reason to entertain thoughts of not going back. I very much look forward to the next time!
