ER nurses were absent. I saw mine one time in 4 hours after he missed an IV stick 3 times he got angry stormed out of the room and NEVER came back. The some woman comes in doesn't say a word starts the IV draws the blood. I'm laying there freezing. No sheet no pillow. I am crying in pain and vomiting. They didn't give me a nurse call light. I was told they would have to order a pillow and was given 1 bath blanket. I never received anything for pain or nausea so it was a totally useless visit. If you have a true emergency DO NOT GO THERE.

DO NOT GO TO Presby. Hosp. in ...

DO NOT GO TO Presby. Hosp. in Huntersville. It's the worst in service, caring, equipment, and cleanliness. After 12 hours in the ER waiting for a room to empty to be admitted, my husband was placed in a small closet sized room without any windows, and no bathroom! There was a SHARED bathroom between rooms, but the person in the other room was in quaranteen, that person should not have been in that area at all. Bathrooms should not be shared. All supplies including tissues had to be brought in by us, the hospital provided NOTHING! After 3 days in the same dirty smock put on him in the ER and laying in the same sweaty sheets (sort of sheets!) I had to finally TELL the nurses to do their jobs and change them!! They also had to be told to remove his unused IV and later at discharge to remove his other IV!! We had to ask for a bag to put his dirty linens in!ASK! A patient should not have to do that. The first DR. in the ER was rude, and abrupt. They started to double medicate him, if I had not spoken up and told them that they had already medicated him! They never moped his room floor for an entire week. And we seriously doubt that the bathroom that was so contaminated that he couldn't use it was ever properly cleaned. We were never given the results of his last blood tests before leaving. DO NOT GO TO SUCH A DIRTY, UNCARING FACILITY. CMC has got to be better!!! I know the old University Hospital on WT Harris and 29 is better with nice large windowed rooms and PRIVATE tiled cleaned bathrooms complete with showers. And they clean every day. Concord's now CMC is also a much better choice. I'd have to be dead on arrival to be taken to Huntersville......and I thought the OAKs was bad in 1979!! Makes it look like a country club!!Your survey will arrive in your mail box the day after you get home!ha! That won't be filled out until we get the bill, which will of course be full of errors! Working nurses on 12 hour shifts is insane! Do you want the nurse that has been up for at least 14 hours attending to you? She's probably thinking about dinner and bed! Tests have been done that show less and less attention to tasks after 8 1/2 hours of work!!! But this is the medical world what could they possibly learn from the corporate world?! DON'T GO THERE!! It was a constant germ a phobic ordeal trying not to catch something while there! The ER especially messy, crash carts piled high with junk....just think if they had to use them! Warning side rails of their tiny in hospital bed are not cleaned either ...even between patients!
