Their tamales are very good. The food bar up front has a lot of standard favorites (enchilladas, burritos, chili relenos, tacos) and some not-so-standard dishes that are hot and flavorful. Try a little of everything. Watch your hands, because the plates can be hot. In the dining room is the salad bar with salsa (try the corn & black bean salsa), tomatoes, sour cream, pico de gallo and all the fixings. The bean soup on the salad bar is definitely worth trying. I like it. Their soups aren't the same worn-out thing you get at most food bars... but rather someone made them who knows about making good soup. Table service is prompt and courteous. Be sure to raise the Mexican flag at your table for service. For desert, ask your waiter for the sopapillas (free with your meal). They fry them up fresh and hot for you and serve them with a bottle of honey. Excellent, fluffy and crisp... with a little powdered sugar these things would be a hit for breakfast in New Orleans. They also have a small desert bar in the dining room, with puddings & cookies and other small desert treats. The sopapillas are not to be missed though. Highly recommended for a quick sit-down quality meal with your family. For this buffet price, you can't do better for wholesome Mexican food.
Breadsticks were crispy outside, tender inside and hot. Very nice. We had the mixed fried vegetables for appetizer along with an order of meatballs. The fried veggies were wonderful and don't forget the homemade ranch dressing. The horseradish dip wasn't very good. Forget the meatballs for appetizer. They are 3 to an order but are too filling. Pizzas are all restaurant made with fresh dough, fresh veggies and are brick oven cooked. Christophers makes the best pizza in Atascocita. The pasta dishes were very good. If you like homemade sauces and LOTS of fresh cheese, then this is the place for you. Service was the best. The wait staff was very good and service was prompt. Food arrived hot and delicious. I recommend this restaurant. Even for people who don't care for Italian, they have a LOT of other options including seafood, steak, etc... . Christophers has something for everyone. Prices are family reasonable.
You need to go there if you live near Atascocita. Best pizza anywhere. Good service. Everything was better than we expected. We passed by it a lot for over a year because it's in a strip center and from the outside it doesn't look like anything special. We were surprised by the lovely wall murals, the mood lighting, and the cool Italian music. The servers wear ties with all black outfits. They have a wine bar and cloth napkins. From the outside we thought it would be a pizza parlor. When we got inside we were impressed and thought it might be a little upscale. When we were seated it felt like a nice family restaurant. When we ate it was like fine dining. When we paid we felt like we got a deal. As we left everybody thanked us and asked us to come back. When we got home we were satisfied. What a great dining out experience.
