Pumping out bosses.

In most business replacing yourself is an insult. Not only are you being laid off, but you have to replace yourself who will do it for cheaper. In this business, you have to replace yourself, or you’re not doing the job properly. I can’t think of many businesses that follow ...morethat model. Why are we in the mind frame that the potential of someone doing a better job than us scare us? What if you trained people to do a better job than you, but instead of being laid off, you make more money? DSJ, while they do things a little differently than your typical 9-5 job, DSJ emphasizes the ability to replace yourself while you’re being promoted. In a normal job, once you’re promoted to a higher position, your old one becomes available. So who better to replace you than the person you train? In many jobs, becoming a manager means going through training to fill that position, like learning how to do the paperwork, the inventory system if you’re dealing with a product or service, and how to deal with people. (company name) does exactly that, except once you’re done training, you are in charge of your own business that brings in steady income, with room for growth, Now being the boss does require more effort and responsibility than being an employee. Things we take granted like showing up on time, everyday are crucial, since you’re the example for the people that are working for you. Other aspects such as leading by example. Maintaining a good attitude, and being solution oriented are key aspects of being a boss. view less

Doing my thing, my way.

Before this business, I just graduated college, ready to enter the work force. Sadly, the economy didn’t have huge job openings, but continued looking and looking. I found some odd jobs here and there, but nothing permanent. What made me stay was ultimately, there are two ...morereasons. I realized after many months of job searching, I figured that the best way to have some stability is to work for myself, but I didn’t really know how to do it. The second reason is that the people I was working with were genuinely motivated and had good work ethic, which is rare with my past job experience. When I saw that people did take a real interest in my success. And when I saw business owners the same age as I was, even a little younger come in and speak, I thought if they were successful, why not me? The people who trained me never stopped learning, even though they were about to get into their branch location, they still talked about getting better, how they could train people better. They had a plan where they were going in life; what they were going to do with their success (travel, cars, etc.) I want to emphasize that being in business for yourself, no matter what the industry, takes a lot work and sacrifice. It will take some time to get out the mindset of just getting by, thinking day-to-day, week-to-week. Once you start thinking long term, and what you want out of life, the rest will come into place. view less

Changing I how view life. What ever I make of it!

What I take from this is the fact that through this program I was able to completely flip my mind state is the lesson of what this opportunity has changed for me. In all honesty I am a different and better individual because of this program. The branch managers didn’t just ...morehire me solely on my background and qualifications, but because I had qualities needed to start my own business. They provided the hands-on training that brought out the inner leader in me. Words are merely words and can hardly touch on the many ways this opportunity has touched my life. If your truly looking for a way out, the chance to change your life, and the opportunity you’ve felt life has never just handed over, this is it! Now this is not for everyone but for those that it is, I say will with all encouragement, grab it with full belief that you can make a difference in the outcome of your future, and run with it full force. You really have nothing to lose, but; a world of freedom, financially and mentally, to not only gain, but control. view less
