My husband and I tried to get pregnant with our second child naturally for 12 months, but had no success. I then went to my OB for help. She ran all the pertinent tests and everything came back normal. My husband went to an infertility specialist to have tests run. Again everything came back normal. We were diagnosed with "unexplained infertility." My OB put me on Clomid and we did an IUI. I got pregnant, but then suffered a miscarriage at 5 weeks. We took a month off and then got on Clomid and had a second IUI. It was unsuccessful. We tried a third round of Clomid and IUI, but found out I was experiencing "Clomid fatigue." My OB recommended I go to an infertility specialist and consider IVF. The Clomid was making me a basket case so I decided to find more natural ways to solve my infertility issues. I started seeing Dr. Zhang on Oct 3, 2012. She placed me on Chinese herbs and I was having acupuncture treatments twice a week. By November 14, 2012, I was pregnant naturally. I continued to see her once a week until last week when I hit 12 weeks just to make sure I was out of the high miscarriage risk stage. Dr Zhang is amazing! Not only is she extremely knowledgeable about acupuncture and Chinese herbs (she’s a professor at the acupuncture school here in Houston), but she also has experience as an OBGYN. She was able to knowledgeably look at my blood work and come up with the correct protocol for my situation. Also, I tried for 16 months naturally and with hormonal help with no success. I then saw Dr. Zhang for only 6 weeks and got pregnant naturally! Additionally, Dr. Zhang’s bedside manner is wonderful. Never did I wait longer than 5 minutes to see her. Never did I feel like she was in a rush to get through my appointment. She was calm and patient and listened to all my concerns. I always left her appointments fully at ease and relaxed. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Zhang. I have and will continue to recommend her to anyone

Highly recommend Element 5 OM! After years of “western doctors” unable to correctly diagnose or pinpoint the reason for my chronic symptoms, 5 cancer scares put on me by those doctors and a plethora of expensive tests and scans with no real answers, I realized what I had not tried was “eastern medicine.” I found Element 5 OM searching online. It is located in Houston’s inner loop in the Upper Kirby area with plenty of parking. She does acupuncture, herbal medicine, shiatsu massage and cupping. What I liked best about my first visit with the acupuncturist was that she took much more time than any “western doctor” has on the consultation/diagnosis and really got down deep to the root of my complicated problems. I have been seeing her once a week for several months now and have seen amazing results, I feel like a completely different person. My husband and my father both see her now as well. My husband has shoulder pain that results from his job and she has kept his pain under control. My father had been going to physical therapy for months with no improvement. After one visit his mobility is nearly back to normal. She also does cupping as one of her forms of treatment. I have to say it is ten times better than any massage you will ever get. I used to get massages to de-stress my shoulders. I would feel good for that day and then the tenseness would come back. With one cupping session I was feeling good, limber, and relaxed in my shoulders for nearly a month, you are never going to get that from a massage!
I am quite the massage fanatic and have been getting regular massages at least twice a month since 2005. In that time I have tried dozens of therapists and spas. Many bad, some good, and very few exceptional. In my experience Kelli Rice is the most exceptional therapist I've experienced in Houston or elsewhere. She is a fully licensed and certified LMT with the state of Texas. Her technique is one with strong, long, and flowing strokes which are theraputic as well as extremely relaxing. She has the strength and ability to go as deep as your body needs to resolve any muscle issues. Her studio is located in with a Chiropractor office and is very nicely decorated with very much a spa like atmosphere, very serene and relaxing. Her pricing is very competitive and worth every dollar spent. And to top it off, Kelli has a wonderful personality which makes a session even that much more enjoyable. And she seems to enjoy every minute of what she does. Since seeing her for the first time this last Spring (2009) she holds the #1 spot on my list.
