Best school ever!! i would recommend this school to everyone with a passion for beauty. completely remodeled and now has state of the art equipment.
I attended this ZOO for a few months and not worth money or time. Just look at them up on the BBB. This school is very unsanitary. I've seen first how the instructors & students scoop relaxer product out the big tub container and anything left over(hair and all) from a client it is dump back in the tub. Don't believe me ask them to show you the product before its scoop it out the container. Students do not clean before & after each client that sits in their station. This is a state law by TX. If you do not see a disinfectant and hand sanitizer on that students station, just get up and leave. Another thing about this school they does not post this info below for everybody to see to put in complaints b/c that school would have been closed down by now. Most students are not even aware of this info. Save your money and go to a community college b/c its 1/4 of the price. Do your research before even thinking about this school.

I attended this school from November 2007 to May 2008 and I was treated as if I was and uneducated, ""out on my last dime,"" slow person by the director of the school and her sister-in-law who is an instructor at this school. I am a Muslim woman and when it came time for me to fast the director of the school told me that my hijab was inapproriate and if I was Muslim I should have told her. I felt extremely belittled, blindsighted and bamboozled. If you have and personal beliefs this school will rip you apart and force you to temporarily turn from your faith. The facialist instructor is great and the equipment and products are top of the line but if you want to be treated like a respectful human being should be, find another school!!!
I have been to Royal Beauty School at this location as a walk-in customer twice. Both visits were frustrating. The "receptionist" doesn't let the instructors know that there are customers available for the student(s) to work on. The customer sits in an area that everyone in the class, including the many instructors walking around, can see them waiting though and the customer still waits an average of 30 minutes before being acknowledged. I mean really, if the instructors thought we were students, they should have came over to find out why we are sitting there instead of participating in the training exercises. OK, finally a student is assigned to perform the requested service on you. The students are nice. The instructors are inattentive. I have been there twice as I stated. I have had a relaxer performed on my hair twice. The last time was not satisfactory. The students are instructed to place the product on your hair working from the back. The students are slow at it. The relaxer could easily sit on the back portion of your head for 30 minutes and the student is still not to the front. The last time I had it done here, the student placed finally got to the front of my head, placed the product on it and we were off to rinse it off. If it weren't for the fact that the product on the back was starting to burn, I would have insisted that it remain on the front for more than the few seconds it takes to get to the sink. I got the instructor's attention and stated I wasn't satisfied that the area from my crown to the front was not sufficiently processed and she stated that she knows "that you girls like it bone straight but that's not how it should be done." The student had already told me that is how they are instructed. Just the same, it was barely texturized forget about relaxed. I tried to tell the student, nicely, while she was performing the service that it needed to be done faster and that the best way to get the job done faster rather than leaving the product sitting on the hair was to smooth the hair with the back of the comb that she used to part the hair after placing the product on the entire new growth. The instructor told me that if I was not satisfied that I could come back to have a touch-up on the touch-up in the front where I was not satisfied. I have not. Basically, I believe there are too many students for the instructors available at this location and that the instructors are performing a disservice to these students that pay a great deal of money to attend beauty school. If the students perform tasks in a manner that is not satisfactory to a client, they will not receive repeat customers. That would be a waste of their money and time. I would not recommend this school for relaxers or touchups. I have not had other services performed besides a trim. I would love to have a haircut/style but don't have the confidence in the skills trained to these young adults. One great positive is the price. I had a "relaxer touchup" and trim during the first visit and it cost $28! A touchup is $25 and the trim was $3. Great. I was satisfied at the end of the first visit. That student graduated so I had a different student. She was nice but I was not satisfied with the end result.
