On the final disposition of a suit for divorce, for annulment, or to declare a marriage void, a court shall enter a decree changing the name of a party specially requesting the change to a prior used name unless the court states in the decree a reason for denying the change of name.
Child Abuse
Child abuse is defined in the Texas Family Code as an act or omission that endangers or impairs a child’s physical, mental or emotional health and development. Child abuse can take the form of emotional or physical injury, sexual abuse or exploitation, physical or medical neglect or inadequate supervision.

JMC – “Joint managing conservator” means the sharing of the rights and duties of a parent by two parties, ordinarily the parents, even if the exclusive right to make certain decisions may be awarded to one party. TFC 101.016 Being named JMC’s is a presumption in Texas, but it is rebuttable (TFC 153.252) which means you can present facts to a Judge as to why a JMC is inappropriate or unworkable (TFC 153.253) According to TFC 153.004 a court may not appoint JMC’s if credible evidence is presented of a history or pattern of past or present child neglect, or physical or sexual assault in violation of Penal Code section 22.011 or 22.021.

It usually prohibits bad acts such as hiding money from the other spouse, attempting to hide a child of the parties, harassment, etc. If a person violates a TRO they can be held in contempt of court and punished by a fine and/or sentenced to jail.
