Vecchio Ponte convenient and good

We stayed at a Downtown high-rise for Valentines and walked here for Valentine's dinner. We were nearly the only people in the place. The staff was great...attentive and helpful. He had the lamb shank, I had fish. Very good and reasonably priced. Decent wine prices as well.

Not a place for dinner

After reading reviews on City search this seemed to be a perfect place for dinner before the Theater. Reviews promised authenticate Italian. This was not the case. Wine list most wellknown wine was Beringer's White Zin at $6.00 a glass. We selected a Canyon Ridge CA Chardonnay for $26.00 /bottle. The Caesar salad, $9.00 was shredded iceberg lettuce with bottled creamy Italian dressing. Chicken Marsala $18.50 was a chicken breast with a creamy of mushroom soup gravy with a touch of Marsala wine and canned mushrooms. The Salmon dish was fishy not fresh. This might be a great lunch spot for Downtowners, or a decent place for Hotel guests to walk to for a quick bite but this in not a good restaurant let alone Authentic Italian restaurant.

Best Place to Eat Downtown

I first came here with my coworkers and we all got different meals but everything was delicious. They have the best ravioli and lasagna. This is such an inexpensive place to get the best meal downtown. The staff was very nice and offered me authentic Italian coffee and tiramisu after my meal. I come here atleast twice a week because I can't get enough of the great food and service.

Great food!

I usually don't write reviews, but I just had to comment on this place. I went there today with a co-worker of mine and we shared a spinach ravioli and a lamb shank. It was to die for. I was truly surprised that it was so good, being that it is considered a ""fast food"" type restaurant. The prices were extremely reasonable for what you get, the staff was very friendly, the decor of the place was really cool. Definitely will be a weekly dining place for me from now on! If you go, definitely try the ravioli and the lamb shank! You will not be sorry.

Surprisingly good

I really liked this little joint. I had the pork loin with peaches and it was superb. I have been to Italy a couple of times and can honestly say this has been the closest thing to ""authentic"" Italian food that I've had in the states. Will definitely be coming back!

Great Lasagna

If your idea of Italian food is spaghetti meatballs then this is not your place. I've lived in Italy so I know that these guys are the closest thing to Italian food that you can certainly get for your buck. It's inexpensive and the food is good and different. I enjoyed the coffee too, it was real Italian coffe and I paid less than $2. I loved it.

Loved it!

Yummy food, inexpensive, and convenient. What more could you ask for? Seriously though, the food here is great, the staff is super friendly, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. They opened last month (I think), and I've been there about 10 times already. Ponte Vecchio has become a staple to my diet!

Great Variety!

I have been in a couple of times since it has opened. This little taste of Italy offers different dishes and salads. Besides being close to my office I get more food for my buck! I've spent just as much at a fast food joint and not as good a meal. My coworker had a shrimp and advocado salad and she loved the place too.

Poor Addition to the Downtown Lunch Scene

Myself and a group of 6 co-workers were excited to try what we hoped would be a new addition to our lunch rotation. Upon entering we saw a board showing the available entrees for the day and were quickly disappointed. At around 12:15 they were already out of 2 of the 4 pasta entress and 1 of the meat entrees. I settled for a chicken breast swimming in a watery red sauce. The chicken was very small and overcooked. The side salad was 100% iceberg and was topped with a very oily, bland dressing. The bread was extremely stale. I was shocked that this quality of food served in a cafeteria setting cost $9. With a soft drink I ended up paying well over $10 for one of the worst lunch experiences I have ever encountered. My co-workers actually fared worse with their choices that included greasy lasagna, rigatoni that tasted identical to something out of a can, and fried chicken fingers that were 90% breading and served with a white dip that tasted almost like tartar sauce. All of agreed that we would never return. It is a true shame that the Pho restaurant that left the space was replaced with an Italian restaurant that will not survive long if they continue to serve up sub-par cafeteria fare at top-tier prices.
