What's next at a fine dining establishment, being charged for water?!?\r \r I've dined at Pesce before alone and never an unpleasant experience. However, it seems that when a party of 4 or more come in the restaurant staff/management see fit to 'tax' larger parties. I have never before paid $15 for 3 cokes (not 3 individual cokes, but a $5 refill charge for the same coke), or $12 for what seemed like complementary bread (this is a per head charge). In such a place like Pesce, one would assume that the server would inform his table that there would be extra charges for such things as bread and drinks... Our table ended up paying an included gratuity on $30 worth of food that we weren't aware we were going to be charged for...\r \r We also ordered a bottle of wine, and the server presented it, but not to the one who ordered it. I guess this was gender biased, and it really upset that member of our dinner party. \r Lastly, we were celebrating a birthday that evening and the only dessert on the menu that our birthday girl wanted was OUT. Seriously?!? Make more then. What kind of restaurant can't keep their kitchen stocked? Obviously one that can't get it together.\r \r I have had better dining experiences at the likes of Danton's and Landry's... for less than half of the price. We will definately never go back.

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday. We arrived a little late (an hour before closing). Everything started well, he was planning to spend a lot here because we love to fine dine. We shared 4 appetizers (seafood martini, tuna study, calamari and oysters). Then we had our main dishes, followed by dessert. Mind you, we didn't finish everything and we're 2 skinny people, but we wanted to experience the food. The first thing that was off was that the waiter did NOT listen to anything we said. I said I want a margarita, he said he would bring a strawberry-tini. We say no more bread, he gives more. He just about did the opposite of everything we asked. Then something strange happened. We didn't lick our plates clean of our appetizers and for some reason the waiter pressed us 3 separate times to finish off our tuna study. We started to feel guilty and decided to finished it. How I regret it. The following morning he and and I were throwing up and had bowel issues and even the day after that, I can't eat more than a fist full of food without heading to the bathroom. This is day 3 after the food. I don't know what happened that night but we are disappointed for sure

Awesome dinning experience. Easy to get too location, nice facility, knowledgeable and prompt wait staff, good california (cake bread) and australian wine list and availibility, high quality food.\r \r I was skeptical when the waiter suggested trying the gumbo. I generally order the gumbo but at a Landry's restarunat!? It was good and a bit spicy - I like spicy. \r \r We had a great time, the restaruant is upscale in decor and we had a good view of the entire place. The bar looked nice as well.

My husband takes me to this really nice dinner at Pesce. We arrive and are seated. It takes 10 min for someone to notice us and another 15 min to get our drinks and order an appetizer. It takes another 20 min to get our appetizer. The appetizer was terrible. It was supposed to be calamari but it must have been rubber bands fried and served with a sauce because that's what it tasted like. Our waiter didn't check on us to see if we were okay at any point during the appetizer. We had to clear our own plates from in front of us. We finally get to order our entrees and WOW! They were absolutely great! The entrees were oh so delicious!! But again, when we were done, we had to clear our own plates and move them to the other side of the table. \r \r My husband had arranged for a special desert but the waiter forgot. After dropping $200 I would probably not return to this restaurant. The food was good but the service overcomes that. \r \r So, fast forward.... I put in a comment on the restaurant website. I get a phone call from the chef and someone else. I wasn't home so they left me a message. \r \r I call Pesce back. I ask for Chuck, the first guy that left a message from there. I get ?you have the wrong number?. So I ask for Mark, I get ?He?s not here right now?. I ask to leave a message and the guy starts laughing ?Sure, just want moment?. So I leave my name and number at work. I have yet to receive a phone call again. When I left my comment on the website it wasn't to get a phone call back but just to let them know that they should work on the service. That's it. But after getting lauged at for wanting to leave a message, I have such a bad taste in my mouth from this restaurant. \r \r \r CN: Went to nice dinner on my birthday, got crappy service, got phone call from Chef, got laughed at for wanting to leave a message when I called back. I most likely won't return. \r

The food is very good for what it is, but nothing extraordinary. We ordered a Filet of Sole (that night's special) and it was like 50$ A PIECE! The waiter did a crappy job at removing the bones, too. I'd rather get Branzino at Da Marcos anyday!!!!!

My husband and I are definitely creatures of habit and don't venture past our favorite restaurants very often. However, last night we decided to give this place a try. Although a bit pricy, it was worth every penny! Our waiter was absolutely wonderful and catered to everything! The food was absolutely outstanding! I had the Hawaiian Mahi-Mahi and I ate every single bite. This is definitely a place that we will be going back to!

My boyfriend and I had a $150 gift card to a Landry's restaurant and decided to go to Pesce. Bad decision. While the food wasn't absolutely horrible it left much to be desired. The food was definitely sub par and way over priced. We ended up having to spend 25 bucks of our own money and even for that I was disappointed with the quality of food. There are so many delicious places to dine in Houston. I don't know how this place can compete. I will definitely advise anyone I know not to eat here.

if you love seafood and specifically raw oysters this is the spot for you. i never knew there were so many varieties of oysters....and it depends what the selection is for the day because it depends on what they get in fresh for the day. excellent food...very fresh seafood...chic ambience. one downfall, as pricey restaurants go i think you end up paying a bit more than for what you get.

In reading all of the mixed reviews, I've figured out that we must've come on an off night last night. Although the food was fantastic, it seemed to have been outweighed by the service or lack thereof. We had to wait on everything - menus, bread, the check and especially the server. He was pleasant when he came by, but for most of the night he was MIA. I'm not sure if we looked young or what not, but there was no excuse for the kind of service that we received. You would think that for the menu prices, service would be equivalent to that of a fine dining establishment.

The barbeque shrimp was a great starter; fresh fish and great choices for wine. Fun atmosphere and excellent service.

My wife and I were too lazy to make reservations here. So we just showed up and ate at the oyster bar. I think we had the best seat in the house. It was fun to people watch there and service was very accessible. We ate lobster bisque and tuna. The bisque was skimpy on the lobster. The tuna was nice. As for drinks they make a stiff martini and the wine was okay. Although we weren't floored it was a fun dining experience.

We've been going to Pesce since it opened. It's usually a great experience, but over the past six months the quality of food has started to slide. The crabcakes are no longer made with clean jumbo lump, but rather contain shells, fat, and lower-quality meat that gives a once great dish a ""dirty"" flavor. The $9 Mediterranean salad was flat and lifeless. The seafood martini is overpriced, as it consists of mostly slaw. Of all the food on the menu, our favorites have shrunk down to just three or four items. The oysters are always fresh and good, and the softshell crab (when in season) is excellent. The quality of Pesce's food used to stand out, but it now seems to have fallen into line with the rest of the Landry's chain.

Made a reservation at 8. Was not seated until 8:45. Hostess was unaccomodating and kept telling us we'd be seated shortly. \r \r Waiter took forever. He also did not bring one member of our party's drinks and did not bring us a dessert menu. Food is decent, but nothing special. Will never return.

i go to as many restaurants as business permits and this place was one of my favorites. The chef has a great menu, however a little overpriced. what really made the night was Dominic. He made us all laugh and was very accomodating to the needs of each person. he even followed us to the door and opened it for every one. Armando is one of the best mangers i have ever experienced. I will definitely return and i recommend you do as well.

Not the best food ever, but very good. I like that they bring you a bread tray and let you select a piece of bread instead of just giving you a basket. The tomato arugala salad was excellent, but my husband's caesar seemed average (very littler dressing, no anchovies). You have to be proactive with wine selection. They tried to serve us another bottle of wine when ours was sold out without giving us a chance to look back at the wine menu. The seafood stew was plenty of food, but fairly average. My husband's tuna was excellent, but unlike the online menu, the actual menu doesn't state that it's cooked medium rare (in case that bothers you, as it did my husband). The lemon meringue is excellent, especiall if you aren't a huge fan on lemon desserts (3 inches of meringue w/ 1 inch of lemon filling). Enjoy!

I took my husband there for his brithday and had a horribel experience. Uopn entering, the staff up front was unfriendly and unhelpful. They were snooty and cold. The food was average and it was not worth it due to the horrible environment. I wanted to eat and get out as soon as possible.
