Nox

It's a drive for us to make it to Nox, but we loved it. Wish we lived closer; we would go more often.



It is a big club, 2 bars inside and nicely decorated (we had the bed). Bottles are pricey, but not over-the-top.



Nox gets crazy packed!!...get there early. Hot people and good dance music.

Can you say DISCRIMINATION...

If you are of African American descent, there is no need to try to go in since you will be turned away like me and my friends were.



When me and my other 3 friends went to get in the club the door man asked if we were on the list and that tonight they were only letting in people who were on the list or reserved a table. Having heard this tactic from other friends in similar situations, I was able to put 2 and 2 together. Essentially, we were "white" enough. Yep, in 2009, we were not white enough to get in.



I asked my friends to hang back so that I could show them that the bouncer was not letting us in for something we have no control of, but would let others in. Time after time, after time, people of Caucasian descent were let in. Did he check his trusted clipboard you ask? No, he did not. Trying to give the door man the benefit of the doubt, we asked several groups of people walking in if they had to be on a list to get in or if they had a reservation. Time and time again they said, no.



So, the people that we asked if they needed to be on a list to get clearly weren't on a list and they just walked right into the club.



Finally we asked the operator of the club if it is a common practice to engage in such discrimination. And again he tried to feed us the RSVP list idea, and then added the the other people were regulars and he knew them. So I ask, if they are regulars and you know them, why are you still carding them? The door man wasn't carding everyone, so that means that some he knew and others he did not. So what is your next excuse? I am not a stupid person, I can see what is in front of me when it happens. Not only that, other staff such as parking people and security told us that "they don't let black people in here" and that "they dont have control over what the owner does with the club"



Oh, in his defense, we did see him let in a black woman, but she was also with 5 other white women.



So if you support blatant discrimination, this is the place for you.
