What a Headache!!!

I bought a brand new VW Passat from them, after a lot of old school haggle / and the old back and forth bull#$%. It actually reminded me of my experiences with car buying from the 90's through a GM or Ford dealership. The price on the windshield was lower than invoice, because they were making room for the newer year model to come out. VW had offered dealerships a cash back rebate that they can roll over to the customer. The biggest headache was in the finance department, when they tried to sneak in a bunch of extra charges on me. There were pre-installed features, like Phantom Footprint, that cost hundreds, and did not interest me. They refused to let me waive the 'option', because it was already installed. If it is already installed, then it should be reflected in the sticker price on the windshield. It shouldn't sneak up on you, while doing the final paperwork, as if it were a true option. Another thing that they tried to sneak in was the paperwork fee. It is called something else, but runs almost $200! Ha! What a joke. Also, their offering for GAP insurance was $700. Absurd. I had to haggle with them to remove these extra charges. I have purchased a dozen cars in the past 20 years, and the only numbers you should see are the Price for your car, Tax, Title, Licensing (Registration, Inspection) Everything else should be OPTIONAL. Remember that next time these snakes try to swindle you!! On top of all this, I brought the car back in for service a year later (well inside the warranty period). They wanted to charge me to fix a defective plastic piece that broke off the car. I had to fight them to replace it for free!! While under warranty!! The part was only a few bucks, but they fought me on who should have to pay for it. This is the last time I deal with these guys. Totally unprofessional.

Above and Beyond Amazing

I needed to have a spare key ordered for my Jetta. The dealership was very busy and everyone was occupied - still one of the salesmen took a second to ask what I needed. When he realized I only needed a part he directed me to the only empty counter. The attendant was very informative about what I needed and had my order completed in less than 5 minutes.

The best thing about this experience was an attendant who noticed that the key I was holding had a broken key ring. Everyday I have to carry two sets of keys, my car key by itself and everything else since I can no longer attach my car key to the ring. He asked to borrow my key momentarily, and brought it back with a fixed key ring!! He even replaced the dead battery when he noticed it wasn't working!!

I honestly can not thank these gentlemen enough for not only doing their jobs efficiently, and enthusiastically, but also going above and beyond to make my day and my life so much easier.

TL;DR - Amazing service from informative attendants who take the time to make sure you leave happy.

Worst Service Ever

Worst service ever. If I could go back in time and do *anything* else with my money, other than give it to Momentum Volkswagen on Richmond, I would. The salesman hit on me during the test drive. The service department is UNBELIEVABLY unhelpful. Scheduling a service over the phone is next to impossible. The entire experience has been hideous--every time I have anything to do with them. Shame on me for not 1.reporting the salesman at the time. 2. ending the relationship with this business, sooner and 3. for not rating the poor experience sooner. In an economy where businesses are begging for your $ this one seems to not even notice that there are options. I'm exercising mine!
