CARUS DENTAL IN THE PAST HAS HAD A DECEIVING DR(ZARGOUNIE) BUT THE OFFICE AND STAFF ARE GREAT THEY HAVE RECENTLY GAINED 3 NEW AND GREAT DR'S WHO HAVE REALLY BRIGHTEN UP THAT PLACE!!!!!! THE DR I SAW JUST RECENTLY TALKED TO ME FOR A GOOD 30 MINS AND I FOR ONCE IN A LONG TIME JUST GOT A BASIC CLEAING AND I DO NOW ENJOY VISITING MY DENTIST-SINCERLY VERY HONEST PERSON!!!
Dr.Zarghouni is no longer working at Carus Dental
I have gone to the same dentist for 16 yrs. He started working for Longhorn Dental, so I moved with him. He recently went with another company because LD was so horrible. They would not give him my dental records saying that I would have to request them. When I called to get the records they told me I would have to pay $42 for the copies. What?!? I've never had to pay to get doctor records from anywhere! This is ridiculous!!! I would not recommend this place to anyone; the people are rude and unprofessional.
"Carus" was recently "Longhorn Dental", but the so-called "dentists" practicing here are the same old bunch of crooks. Dr. Zarghouni told me that I URGENTLY needed a "deep gum cleaning", cost $300-500, and 12 fillings -- all immediately. Her hygenist told me I had no more enamel left on any of my teeth. Thank goodness, I was alarmed enough to seek a second opinion, from a dentist who is an active member of the ADA. Dr. Zarghouni is NOT a member of the ADA. The second dentist could not find any teeth that needed filling immediately, only one, but it was not "urgent". Nor was a "deep cleaning" needed (only a regular $45 one). Yes, there was some normal wear on my enamel, but no drastic loss. Avoid Dr. Zarghouni and the Carus (Longhorn) Group and save yourself useless anxiety, thousands of dollars, and the weeks of unnecessary worry and insomnia I went through. This is a slick bunch of crooks in a fancy office in an upscale part of town, preying on unsuspecting people. I feel I should report them to the Better Business Bureau as well.
I had a bad experience at this place. It caused me to question the credentials and ethics of everyone working there. I don't even find the dentist I saw, Dr. Zarghouni, listed as a member of the American Dental Association. Wish I had checked this place out more thoroughly before going there.
They recommended a lot of serious and costly treatment that I didn't really need.
The dentist's name at this practice is Dr. A. Zarghouni. Avoid at all costs (both emotional and financial). A very deceptive practice.
On my first, and only visit I was told that I had 11 cavities that needed filling, 4 teeth needing crowns, a "deep cleaning" of gums ($350) due to disease, that I had no more enamel on my teeth, and a few other serious problems. All requiring urgent attention.
I was STUNNED. I had NOTHING that required any treatment the last time I saw a dentist, 3 yrs ago. I brush and floss 3-5 times per day and rarely get a single cavity.
Thank goodness, I sought a 2nd opinion. Diagnosis: no work needed. Only a single crown (a piece broke off). No other crowns, no deep gum cleaning, just a regular cleaning.
This 2nd opinion, from a highly-respected, peer-reviewed dentist, relieved me of tremendous and needless anxiety, and saved me $5,000. Whatever you do, AVOID this place. I couldn't sleep for 2 weeks after they hit me with their nightmare, dishonest diagnosis. These people should not be allowed to practice.
