Very nice exhibit

If your looking for something to do with the kids, try the Butterfly center. They have one room full of insect exhibits and games before entering a huge bio dome with live butterflies all around. It is a small tour, but if you just kick back and enjoy the scenery you can spend a few hours. The price is like 8 bucks for an adult and 4 for kids above 3..........which makes it the cheapest tour in the Museum.

Great family or date place.

Whether you're a fan of science or just want to spend a few hours in a relaxing, educational environment, this is the place for you. It's affordable, and a great place to take the kids. Also, it's right in the heart of the museum district and within walking distance from Hermann Park and the Houston Zoo.

Worth it

Even though it's not advertised on their new website, Tuesday 2pm-8pm is the best time to go because the exhibits are free. I paid $5 for the dome show...kind of disappointing, but the stub got us the museum priced parking ($4). Overall it was a nice way to eat up some lazy summer hours for cheap!

Chocolate... oh, Chocolate

In a rush I bought tickets; 2 children 1 adult, I was stunned and I have to say a bit offended at the price of the event, but then again I assumed at the time it was a cause worth while, after all chocolate... kids, culture? We ran up the stairs, one of the three staff members at the entrance was kind enough to take our tickets and then.... I have to say upon entering the exhibit rooms I realized the error of my ways. I don't know what I was expecting, something to the quality of other temporary exhibits. Room after room I found myself mesmerized at the lack of cohesion, repetitiveness and no guidance to interact with the attendees. Aside from a couple of video/recording presentations and some artifacts the event was a waste of time.

...store at the end is FULLY stocked with articles and 7 employees!!!

Field Trip Headquarters

What are you looking for when visiting any museum? Expect to be impressed with the unexpected? Museums must now compete with the incredible accessibility of the web. What can they show us without being ""dated""? Even historical presentations must have an ""awh!"" factor to warrant a return for more than group ventilation time. The HMNS is a cheap
crowd mover for the unwashed cultural wannabes. This is not to denegrate anyone within the bell curve, aaand their
right of access, but why are the schools not training young people how to see and the inherent behavioral expectations.

A Great Museum

I look forward to having company, a date, company party or really cool exhibit so I have an excuse to go to this museum.

The Houston Museum of Natrual Science is a fantastic get-a-way for the day. The butterfly exhibit is breathtaking. A must see!

Voyer to the Past

I was moved to total silence by the enormity of this tragedy. I would love to go back. My twin 8-year old boys were fascinated.
