Don't go here if you're poor!

Needed to get 3 dogs heartworm tested and get month's supply. Do not have computer so called main number. No way to get to clinic to ask cost. Left message as instructed. No one called back. Took dogs with all current paperwork. Am in wheelchair, so lady at desk took my papers and put info on green sheets. Put papers out for me to initial and sign. Did so. Asked her cost. Wad told $18 each. Great! On Social Security. Car needs wirk. Said ok. Waited at least 2 hours outside. When we finally got too hot, wr went in. Immediately did tests. All negative. Gave me meds. Said would not apply the liquid meds for me.. Nearly fainted when presented with $170 bill. Ssif office visit $20 per dog, $18 per dog for test, about $50 for meds. Do not have computer. Tried to call many times with no success, asked cost. For $20 each. could have at least put mefs between shoulder blades! Came here only because have little money. Knew they would sell meds month at a time. My vet charges less than Humane Society. Couldn't afford 6 months at a time like all other vets charge. What kind of service I received? Tell me why I couldn't get someone in clinic to answer phone while they are open?! $20 to see animal so can charge another $18 to run test??!!!

I would give it 0 stars, but I have to give it something. I brought my 4 healthy inside only male cats in for fix felix day, only for my boys to get sick right after. One got better in a matter of days, two more in a week or two, but one has been sick on and off ever since. I brought him to my vet only to find out that he is now FELV positive and going through kidney failure. He's only 2!!! Thousands of dollars later, he's on his last option before being put to sleep, and I had the rest of my cats tested. 3 of the 4 I brought there are now Leukemia positive, and if it wasn't for their poor sterilization between surgeries, it never would have happened and I would still have my Buddy a healthy and happy cat. NEVER BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE FOR ANY PROCEDURES!!! I'm not the only one either, i've been speaking to a lot of people who are having the same types of problems, though none as life shortening as mine. I would rather go to BCHS than here, at least parvo is treatable.

I have a dog we adopted in 2007, the place was nice and clean, yes it's hard to keep up with so many dogs however we went back and adopted two cats, they are very healthy and beautifull! I recomend this place to everyone, forget the bad manners or anything you've herd check it out for yourself.

I just called this place and w...

I just called this place and was told that is was $25 to turn in a stray that I found. I wish I could keep the her but I already have 3 dogs of my own and a 2 year old human child. I can not afford to keep her and they want me to pay to make sure this puppy has a good chance at finding a furever home. If I have the $25 to turn the pup in I would just keep her myself. Nice guys on trying to help these furbabies.

People - Remember it is about ...

People - Remember it is about the animals needing a loving home. Not an overworked employee who isnt as pleasant as we would like for them to be. DONT MAKE THESE ANIMALS SUFFER MORE OR PUT AN END TO THEIR LIVES WITH A DEATH SENTENCE because you didnt like an employees behavior. Keep in mind the larger goal - GIVE THESE DESERVING ANIMALS A SECOND CHANCE AND ADOPT TODAY!

REMEMBER - IT IS ALL ABOUT YOU AND ME GIVING THESE ANIMALS A HOME.

DONT PUNISH THE ANIMALS. ADOPT TODAY!.

I just turned in 6 beautiful k...

I just turned in 6 beautiful kittens, because I already have 8 more kitties in my backyard and I thought that baby cats have more chances for adoption. Denise (the receptionist) was very nice to me and sweet when I was talking while crying because I love all the creatures that step into my yard especially those kitties and will miss them all. I have already get them spayed and neutered with rabbies vaccination before I went there to let them know that I care about those kitties and all are healthy to put into the adoption. If only I can keep them all I will. So pls , TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THIS ORGANIZATION AND TELLING THEM TO NOT TO ADOPT IN THIS PLACE,, WHY YOU HAVE TO TAKE AWAY THE CHANCES OF THE ANIMALS TO HAVE A HOME. Please, those animals inside are innocent. Give them their chance, please.

MELISSA THE INHUMANE MANAGER

This is not a bash the Humane Society but this a bash to this particular place. Melissa the so called manager was very rude and disrespectful and she needs to learn how to be a people person and have good customer service etiquette! Any one seeking or considering adopting a pet I would strongly not recommend this place! The employees had better customer service then she did and she was the one in charge therefore, she is letting her employee's know that it is okay to treat and talk to anybody however she or they see fit! Melissa is a major "B" and the place that she is managing is dirty and I wouldnt run the risk of adopting a pet from here because most of the dogs look sickly and then they try to give you a hard time in adopting an pet! I thought the purpose of adopting a pet was to find it a better home and get out of the living conditions that they were in..... But I dont think that is the case at this Humane Society! Melissa you need to go back to customer service etiquette 101 because your nasty and rude attitude will keep people from wanting to even come to that Humane Society - which happens to be the Audrey Roberts Houston Humane Society on Almeda Genoa Road! All adopter's BEWARE!!!

HMM? HUMANE?

i love helping animals in need, but i must say this place is being run by the most inhumane people, as far as some woman name Ferguson, and some guy named Edward, this people are not people friendly, if they are animal friendly only God knows. I have gone there to drop of donations as i had been for quiet few years, went there and found my self being mistreated by this individual Edward Perez, the way he treated me and my kids was the most inhumane way, {HIS WORDS WERE, take your donations some where else, and the door was slammed on our face LITERALLY} and this happened after me asking a question about the fee they were asking for to drop of an animal, the name does not fit this location, {{INHUMANE SOCIETY}} this is how it should be called, will NEVER donate there again. and will think twice about dropping of an animal there, only God knows how animals are really being treated behind close doors, im speaking for my experience.

Sad to say but Humane society is not really holding up to the name, they need to have PEOPLE friendly workers, that are mature and know how to treat others, and that are professionals in the field of running a shlter. will donate to other shelters but sadly this place left me and my family with a bad taste in our mouth. and sadly this placed discouraged my kids to want to help shelters. this shelter will have to re-hire new staff including those in charge in order for this place to be trusted.

HHS is tops in my book

Even with all the animals the HHS takes in, the staff is caring and considerate. I was in line waiting to drop off a donation and heard the stories given by 4-5 people dropping off animals. Basically they had let their animals have offspring and didn't want to mess with getting rid of them, so they brought to the shelter. Staff did their best dealing with these uncaring people that treat animals like disposables. HHS, thanks for being there.

Low Cost Animal Clinic-1 of the Best in Houston, TX

Wow. Exceptional. They are growing too; modernizing. Very fast in getting in and out. No appointments are needed but best to have one. I donate a dollar each time I go to help the homeless pets. Staff is nice and informational. Prices are affordable, way cheaper than your local pet store or veterinarian. Although in an emergency, it is best to take your animal to a veterinary hospital since they can get very busy! I recommend wholeheartedly. Your pet is under great care here! Oh, it is very easy in getting here too. Just off the Beltway 8 and 288 S.
