Harris County Hospital District Foundation, established in 1992, is a nonprofit organization that operates a charitable, scientific and educational entity for the benefit of its hospital district. The foundation raises endowment funds and works with the governing board of the hospital district in raising consciousness of health welfare in the community. It also raises fund and public support for a wide variety of programs and services. In addition, the foundation seeks financial support through special grants and contracts, individual, corporate sectors and by organizing a range of fundraising events. It also undertakes a literacy program that offers a variety of educational opportunities to more that 27,000 children and their parents and provides study materials. Harris County Hospital District Foundation is located in Houston.
