I love this place!

Before I brought my son to Grandma's House, he had been with the same in-home daycare for 2 years (he was 2 at the time), and I was nervous about taking him to a "real" daycare. We've been at GH for over a year now, and I'm so thankful.

When my son started, he was selectively mute--he wouldn't talk to any adults. Now, he talks so much that I am able to complain about it lol! He knows the alphabet, colors, numbers, days of the week, months of the year, how to write his name, and how to read countless words. I didn't teach him those things! The teachers and staff are a blessing.

I'm a teacher (high school), and I'm a cautious parent, so I did a lot of research before I even started touring schools. Grandma's House stood out for several reasons. They have an impeccable record with DFPS (the people in charge of citing daycares with any violations). Their inspections weren't perfect (that would be a red flag), but the "issues" were small and didn't result in any harm or danger to any children. You can look up those reports yourself. Click on "Narrative" to see what was written up and whether it was fixed the same day (most things are).

The center has been open longer than I've been alive, and I've actually decided not to move, specifically because I want my son to continue attending this center. I don't have any other children, but if I do, they'll go to Grandma's House too because I haven't seen better childcare anywhere.

Overall

I took my daughter to Grandmas' house at 11 weeks old. Ms. Dely and Ms. Ava were great to work with and made me feel comfortable with leaving my first child for the first time. I could tell they enjoyed what they did. My daughter came home happy every day and all of her basic needs were taken care of. I found the day care is very affordable and easy to work with. My daughter spent about 6 weeks here as we waited for the day care of our choice to become available. I would have liked to see my daughter spend less time in the swings and more time practicing tummy time or supported sitting/laying with a boppy. Overall I liked Grandma's house and appreciated the time they took care of my daughter.

When we first saw this place, ...

When we first saw this place, we fell in love to this place right away! Daycare has a very huge backyard for kids to play, staff were organized and systematic. Also, my wife and I noticed through out the years our son was there - no matter what, all of the staff never forget names of kids around them..It gave us a feel that they are always on top of taking care of our kid. We brought our son to Grandma's when he was 18 months old and now turning 10 yrs old next year... and there's never been a day that we are worried about our son while both of us are at work.

Home away from Home

Grandma's House Day Care has been a part of our lives for 8 years. My son has loved the staff and friends he has made there and never has a complaint about his day. Now he is enrolled in extended day and I never have a worry while he is there. The breakfast is ready every morning, the kids are kept active and even do their homework at the homework table! Thanks to a great staff for making it a home away from home.

My daughter loves attending Grandma's House every day. All staff is very friendly and the teachers are always happy to give updates on how your child is doing in class. They also have a huge playground for the kids to play. I also like they are offering dance and gym classes which are provided by an outside company. I researched several day cares in that area before enrolling my daughter and Grandma's House stood out the most!

Best Choice Ever

My son started when he was 2 and continued until he started Kindergarden this year and misses it. My daughter who is 3 loves to go to school. We visited over 25 different centers and none of them compared to the family feeling and knowledgeable staff we encountered. Best Decision we made for our kids.

Great DayCare

This has been a great place for both of our boys. Our first started when he was 2 and the second started when he was 8 weeks. Our oldest boy is now going to 1st grade and the start that Grandma's House gave him has been invaluable. Our youngest is now leaving to join his brother at his new school and he has also been well prepared. Staff turnover is very limited with many longtime employees who are caring and nurturing.

Great Private School

Grandma's House and West Oaks Private School are great places. The kids love it and they are learning valuable tools that they will be able to use later. I would highly recommend West Oaks to others. If you are looking for a place where your kids are happy, you can rest easy knowing that the staff is friendly, attentive and the facility is clean.

peace of mind

My children have attended grandma's House since they were infants. They both started at 6 weeks of age. When they are that little you really have to count on someone else to not only feed and diaper them, but to love them. I feel like the teachers at Grandma's House truly love the children they care for. My oldest child is 3 now and she loves to go to school and learn new things everyday. When I see her around other children her age she really seems to be advanced with her colors, shapes, alphabet, and numbers.
