Often FWAC runs specials in the Leader. $8.75 rabies, new well puppy or kitten exam. These are sadly never without strings attached. The clinic must be one that makes very little business, because it seems that every time we go in there when we see those specials (and need things done for the dogs or cats) they want to nickel and dime and recommend every single thing they can think of. They sold us a $20.00 shampoo, this, that, the other. It seems that they're always trying to make an extra buck and exaggerate the small stuff. We take our other dog to another vet and have done so for years. That other vet clinic doesn't nickel and dime and recommend the unnecessary (maybe not to them but to me). We are just going to take our dog without issues to Snap for her preventatives and continue to take our other dog with breed specific issues to our regular vet. Furthermore, the staff are not friendly. They never remember us, or our dogs. To get an appointment this last time was tricky because the office lady never called us back and I had to call her again. Those Leader discounts are good, but you will not come out spending less than $130 on simple preventative care.. I guarantee you.
I had my dog in there under emergency conditions that I knew would not come out favorably for my pet of 10 years. They helped me through it and even sent a sympathy card about my animal, later on in the week. I am using them with my new dog and I will continue to use them as long as I live close to them.

I am sorry that elbowknee is upset. We have taken all of our pets there for 12 years and have yet to have a urine smell, but accidents happen. If true that they would not clean it up, it must have been Saturday, which can be busy sometimes. They always know our names and our pet's names, but I am looking for excellent vets & staff, that our pets like too. That is critical for us, not do they recognize me. My family has always had pets. I'm 66 and have seen many vets in many cities. Dr Griggs & staff are top notch. I wish I had more stars to give.

Dr. Griggs is a caring, smart vet. As to the bad reviews, they see many, many clients, so if you come in once a year, it may be hard for them to remember you every time. The two bad reviews were obviously written by the same person, trying to influence people more.

Forest West Animal Clinic is an easy walk from my house so I started taking my dog there when we moved to Houston 4 years ago. Durring that time, I've had all my dog's regular shots and check ups done at Forest West. Althugh no one has ever acted like they remember me or my dog, I keep going hoping to establish a relationship -- in case one is ever needed. \r Four years is too long to go without a sign of recognition. I'm shopping for a new vet.
