Dr. Pickney is NOT experienced in orthodontics!! I came to her when I had seen her offer on Groupon for 6-month braces. She made me pay her $1500 up front to get started. (BIG RED FLAG) Impressions were made and sent to a lab. 2 weeks later, I was called in to get the braces put on.



My teeth weren't that bad, its just a few that I felt needed straightening. During my monthly visits, Dr. Pickney would just GLANCE over my teeth and pretend that she was 'checking it' to ensure that they were moving properly. NOT!!! She had no clue what she was doing. 4 months in, I started to realize that my teeth were protruding out and shifting in a totally different direction than they were supposed to. I brought it to her attention, but it seemed like her and her employee Vernisha were more worried about me paying them.



I also realized that the brackets were made out of poor material, and would break all the time. She charged $5 to replace each one. She would make me wait till the next visit to get it fixed, which left me walking around with a loose bracket dangling from my wire!! Other places would have u come in asap to get it fixed!! In addition to that, the white coating on the wire would chip off and show the true metal color. She would charge $15 to replace. Clearly its showed that whatever vendor she was using to supply the materials wasn't legit.



When I tried to get my original pictures because they knew I was trying to leave, they started screening my calls and not answering. One time I called from a different number, Vernisha picked up and hung up when she knew it was me. How disrespectful and rude.



I had to transfer to an Orthodontist. Out of the $2500, I paid Dr. Pickney $2100. She screwed up my teeth!!! Anyone reading this, please save your time and money and go to an Orthodontist to get your braces!!! All the reviews on here must be FAKE FAKE FAKE regarding braces. I should of sued her!!! Going to her was the worst decision that I've ever made.
