Overall
I love Tennis thanks to Coach P!

All this time I've been taking tennis lessons and one thing coach Robert Perez said to me in the beginning that I still remember "You would have to be a great person first, before being a great tennis player" and that's what Coach taught me to be. And I am greatly appreciative of this, not just for a great game but the great awakening of me. For now, I know I can hold my head up high, win or lose and I am greatly respected among my peers because of this. For I used to be a whiner, an arrogant lackadaisical so and so, that didn't care about others, but only myself. It took awhile, but coach taught me to be the opposite, first on the tennis court, then I move it to real life. "For tennis mirrors life" that's another thing coach always said to me. Thank you coach Robert Perez and you will also.

Due to my work schedule it's not easy for me to spend consistent time in any training. However after coach Robert showed me some drills to improve my second serve, I decided to commit twenty five lessons since I think coach Robert will definitely improve my game.

I'm an avid, well-trained tennis player, a member of three tennis clubs, two indoor tennis clubs and one outdoor tennis club. Looking for a tennis instructor to teach my 13 year old son, that was interested in tennis lessons, back then. I didn't want to go to these other instructors at these clubs that I am a member of. Even though they had some great junior players, they were teaching. At first glance, it look like they were mass producing these type of players but I observe them further. And when they were teaching the beginner and what they were teaching was inferior compared to the form of their super championship players. They must have been given these players, not to say they're bad coaches but they just don't know how to teach good form. So I looked elsewhere for the unknown coach that teaches correcting and found him at Ace Tennis Lessons. This teacher of form, Robert Perez is also a good tennis coach and a good role model to my 13 year old son. He has taken my son to a Super Championship level all within one year. This coach has made my son into a very smart strategist. My son has taken down the most hardest hitting players by the help of this coach. My son plays the net, when he needs to and plays back, when he has to. Kudos to his eclat, thumps straight up! A superlative tennis coach, Robert Perez!

I've been to nine different tennis pros in my lifetime at different locations, country clubs, tennis camps, Tennis Resorts, municipal Tennis Centers and private tennis instructors all over the United States and I truly felt my game wasn't improving with this type of form they were teaching me. It was always the same type of form, straight line back swings. For example: pull your racket straight back, with a forehand grip, and then straight forward, over your head to hit a serve. Plus this form was irritating my rotator cuff. I started to investigate by watching top professionals at different web sites in slow motion and compare them to my strokes and they're not the same! I spend a lot of money back then, hoping to get the right instructions, for what I paid for. I know to some people this doesn't matter, they just want to have fun, but I believe I can have even more fun with the right strokes, (injured free strokes). I kept on searching for the right instructor, some were even certified instructors, asking for my money back, once I found out, it was the same form again. Until I found coach Robert Perez, he gave me the form I was looking for, something that you see at the US Open and my shoulder doesn't hurt anymore. Now, I don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to become a pro but I'm assuming this new form will be the gateway for better accuracy, more power and less effort for my entire body. And my assumptions were correct with the help of coach RP. Thank you coach Robert Perez! If by chance you see your form not taking you anywhere, take a lesson from this guy. You won't regret it!

Overall

For the longest time I thought the pedagogy of tennis was a bunch of helpful hints - meaning let's change the grip a little bit and that tennis was an undemanding sport, a girl's sport. Additionally, to my thinking, I went as far to make the lessons 30 minute sessions as opposed to 1 hour or more. I was wrong, this coach explained it to me that the body learns slower than the mind. On my first lesson to improve my backhand coach said to me, "change your grip a little bit" but he took the time to explain the whys. I completely understood why this needed to be done but I kept on reverting back to my old grip. I became an intractable student and this made the process that much longer and tedious. With Coach Perez's persistency and consistency of not just teaching me the grip but everything that goes along with it, in improving my backhand and finally making the commitment to really practicing it. The new improved backhand finally came around with proficiency, consistency and power. He's also now in the process of teaching me other strokes and the strategy that goes along with it. Not to mention, the mental strength, in pulling off these strokes at the right time and moment. Technique, strategy and mental strength coach Robert Perez has got it all for you!

Coach Robert hasn't just taught my two boys (9 and 10) not just their tennis strokes. He brought about their self-efficacy. They're able to take on more and more challenges on and off the court. Academically, their grades have gotten better and physically, their other sports have improved. This is mainly because of his mental strength training exercises done in every lesson. He's a great coach and I highly recommend him!

Overall

Coach Robert is an Excellent Tennis Instructor in analyzing and solving the problem both mentally and physically. He's like a well-trained auto mechanic looking at your automobile and telling you exactly what's wrong and how to fix it, within seconds. And that's exactly what he did with my 9 year old son. If you're looking for a Great Tennis Coach get on board his training sessions as soon as possible.

Recently, I needed to improve my personal

fitness and agility. Coming back to tennis after

twenty five years, I needed to review and practice from basics to rules of tennis.

Robert is a long term associate and we took to the court at neighborhood courts. Robert got me back on grip to serve to full review of the rules and etiquette. I am glad to have Robert working with me to get me back to tennis.

Had my first tennis lesson this past Sunday with Robert Perez of Ace Tennis Lessons. I am getting up there in years and wanted to get back into playing tennis for both exercise and the enjoyment. My first impression is that Robert is going to be a good tennis coach and will help me brush off the rust from not playing for a long time.

Robert also helped in picking out tennis rackets for both my wife and myself and making sure that we had all that we needed to get back into the sport.

So far, this seems like a very good investment.

Robert Perez is an excellent instructor.

He has an easy-going style combined with over forty years of tennis experience. He does a superb job explaining how to play all aspects of the game whether one is a novice or an expert. I am an intermediate player and have enjoyed working with Robert to improve my game. There are other instructors I could have chosen, but I chose to work with Robert at Ace Tennis Lessons. You won't go wrong if you do the same.

Overall

Coach Robert is truly a great coach.

First off, I would like to say that I think he'd be a great coach for not only a beginner, but also for any intermediate to advance level tennis player. He reinforces the basics and fixes your mistakes constantly, which I believe all coaches should do. It helps drill into your brain your faults. Only by knowing your faults can you improve your game.

From our first meeting, I could tell I was learning from a veteran of the game. He is extremely passionate about the sport and I knew I could count on him to help jump start me to back onto the courts (I had taken a break for a couple of years and lost most of my form and footwork.) I can confirm that everything he teaches is correct and he constantly jolts my memory of things I've learned before years ago, but had forgotten. Even if you disagreed with his teachings, he will explain in detail why he teaches you to do something a certain way. The guy has played for over 30 years. You can't argue with experience.

From correct grips, serves, ground strokes, volleys, to overhead smashes, etc... He really teaches it all. He'll even teach the mental part of the game if you choose to go in that route.

Since taking up Coach Robert, I've developed a better understanding of the game. Every aspect of my game has improved.

One important thing to note: He teaches you what you want to learn (with a bit of his own tidbits added in depending on your skill level). So if you don't feel like learning something, just say so. His lessons are based on what you want and what kind of player you want to become. It just so happens that everything he chooses to teach me is something I want to learn.

Give this coach a try. Beyond his lessons, you'll also enjoy his (sometimes hilarious) life stories and random jokes during lessons. (although every once in awhile, they make no sense! But don't tell him I said that, hahahaha!)

Overall
highly recommend Coach Robert...

I highly recommend Coach Robert if you're having issues about winning or losing. He just doesn't point out there is a problem, in this case with my 8 year old daughter. He knows how to solve it with relaxation drills, imagery and a lot of other mental exercises, I know nothing about. And to tell you the truth, if you would have ask me to write this review a few months ago. I would have nailed Coach Robert to the wall! How dare this coach push my little girl into competition without her true consent, but he reminded her "No harm will come to you if you lose this match". When this was happening I noticed two things, she cried the most when I was standing there and the other thing, she cried the loudest when she knew, she was going to lose because she played this one before. It finally dawned on me, my little girl needed to lose to get any better. If you're thinking at the time this was happening I came up to defend her case, I certainly did! Thinking that this was just good parenting, I was wrong. Sometimes you just have to let go and let someone else take over. I think deep down inside I also had issues about her winning or losing. I also saw her lose the match before she even started. Coach Robert taught us both: "It's not about winning or losing, it's about Trying, it's about Relying on Your Abilities to Win and Having a Good Time, while you're doing it" to quote Coach Robert, correctly. I highly recommend this guy!

Overall

I am an intermediate tennis player (an introductory class in college with a few more years of self-practice). I recently took a lesson from coach Robert to improve my serves. Coach Robert is very knowledgeable and patient to answer my many questions, and he is passionate about helping his students get better in their tennis skills.

I am a big fan of self-learning, since there are so much useful tennis learning resources available online. I have learned to serve mainly by reading articles and watching you-tube videos. However, it does take an experienced coach, like coach Robert, to spot my mistakes and to help me improve further and more quickly. I still need more practice on my own after his corrections on my serving motion, but I am confident that my serve will become more powerful and consistent than before.

My wife is a beginner tennis player, and she has also taken a lesson with coach Robert. We both look forward to having more lessons in the future!

Coach Perez is an excellent te...

Coach Perez is an excellent tennis coach and mentor with a great sense of humor He has helped me develop a one-handed backhand, second serve with kick, cleaned up my footwork, and most importantly reinforced my mental toughness and self-confidence. I really think his insights into the mental dimension of sports are as important as the physical technique. ATL has different packages for everyone and it is a great deal. I highly recommend ATL to juniors and adults.
