Below is an email conversation between Dr. Allan Panzer and myself. Dear Dr. Panzer, I pleasurably give you my heart filled thanks for your "on the money" advise and recommendations concerning my decision of LASIK surgery. Obviously your plates full juggling Optometrist practice, expertise in court cases and various travel helping patient's in need. I feel quite honored and appreciative that a gentleman of such exquisite character scheduled time to provide professional but critical advise to me, someone you don't know and never met. Your actions and willingness to help sheds light on the true reason your a Physician, to help people, regardless of monetary gain or public gratitude. Taking your advise and armed with this email of your recommendations, enabled me to locate an Optometrist. His advise mimicked yours to a tee, he said, "with all of your previous issues, you should run not walk from any unnecessary surgery, including LASIK." Sound familiar? It should, you suggested the same, so, eyeglasses and contacts are my only option. Please understand the reason I contacted you, I have an advanced education but, my feeling of apprehension and unease were triggered when three Ophthalmologist assured LASIK was the answer. I truly don't want you to think I was a waste of your time. Doctor, your professionalism is astounding, your open arm policy is refreshing and your attitude is to the point. The Physicians oath you were required to take upon receiving your license to practice, I can honestly say, you walk the walk, not talk the talk. Thank you so much Doctor Panzer for everything. I've been going to Berkeley for over 10 years; this year was the first year that I experienced difficulty in getting my glasses. I had gone 4 different times to pick up glasses that I was told was "in" not to have glasses there at all. It's an understatement to say I was upset. By the 4th time I requested a refund which I was granted. A few weeks later I get a call from Oscar to come pick up the glasses and Maria S. who told me my glasses were not only 'in' but she would mail or deliver them wherever I wanted. I was shocked because I thought this process was over after I got the refund. Maria was proactive in seeing it through. She had my glasses made by Berkeley not by my Provider because of the professionalism and SEE IT THROUGH attitude she exhibits. She delivered them today to my office; they fit perfectly and I'm a 'again' happy satisfied customer. She stopped me from going elsewhere next year and gave me faith that great customer service still exists. Way to Go Maria S! You went over and beyond and I appreciate you. You're a lifer.
After being laid off last Fall, I COBRA'd my FSA account. In December. I went to the optical shop at the Weslayan location to buy Rx eyeglasses and sunglasses with my FSA monies. Oscar was extremely patient and helpful on both occasions I was there: first, to pick out frames and learn the costs involved, and second, the day I ordered multiple pairs, for all of which I needed certain tints, coatings, etc. Ordering was a time-consuming process, but we both wanted each pair to be exactly right. And they are! I picked up my new glasses today, and I am pleased beyond words. All is as expected. Thank you, Oscar, for GREAT customer service and for your patience, the lens tint suggestions you made, and for assuring that everything was perfect before I came to pickup my glasses. Great job!
This review was for my January 2014 visit, just prior to moving from Houston to the UK. Mark was wonderful!!! I needed to get a pair of glasses, which was something I was not prepared for and did not want (I did not have them and I was pretty emotional about getting them), and I had a limited amount of time before I moved. In the case the eye glass frame I ordered did not come in before I moved, Mark had the office frame (the one people use to try on) fit with my lenses so that I would have something to take with me. The frames that were ordered came in but Mark said I could keep the other pari too! Now I have two pairs, one I can leave in the car for driving and one to take with me! Thank You Mark!
This is probably the best medical office I have ever been in. A class act from start to finish. I waited about 4 minutes and then was called back by the assistant who checked my eyes and did all the work up. She was very professional and confident but gave you plenty of opportunities to ask questions and let you know that this time was all about you. I saw Dr Garza and he was Also great. He was very thorough and explained everything and why. Never appeared in a hurry. Then I got glasses and the gentleman really knew how all the frames would fit my face. What would work for my situation and what would not. Great experience and a top knotch office.
I have been going to Dr. Moss since 1990. She is an amazing eye doctor who cares very deeply about her patients. Her exams are thorough and she makes all of her own eyeglasses. She will spend the time with each patient to determine the best glasses and best contact lenses for each patient's eyes. I went to one of the major chains when I didn't have time to go see her and the prescription they provided in both glasses and contacts was the incorrect ones for my eyes. I went back to Dr. Moss and I can see the best I've seen in years. I won't be lured again by one of the bargains at the major chains!
The staff at Berkeley (Jamie, Glenda, Dr. Barker, Dr. Momeni, Dr. Sun) were all very helpful and supportive. There was hardly any waiting time: as soon as I got in (even 30 mins ahead of my scheduled appointment), I was seen. All my questions and concerns were answered confidently, leaving me assured. The actual surgery felt effortless for Dr. Sun and it was quick and painless. After the surgery during my check-ups, Glenda would occasionally ask about my well being. I felt very welcomed and appreciate the efforts of all the staff at Berkeley (Weslayan)
Watkins Eye Center had me feeling like I was on top of the world when I left. I was made very relaxed and comfortable. The nurses and staff are wonderful and make you feel like part of a family instead of just a number.I love the movies being played while we wait and Dr. Watkins - what can I say - he is the greatest. I thank him for letting me give him a kiss on the cheek for our picture. Thank you for my flowers which i was able to look at after my surgery and enjoy fully. i have and do recommend Watkins Eye Center to my friends and family.
Amazing! it is always amazing! The phone concierge, front desk, medical assistants and physicians are all fantastic! I want to mention one employee in particular… Margaret Hernandez. She has exceeded in meeting my optical needs and is always available when I have questions or concerns. Her customer service is unlike anything I've witnessed! She deserves a 10-star rating for sure! Thank you to all the staff and a BIG thank you to Margaret!! Please keep up the great work and friendly office atmosphere!!
From my first appointment several years ago for a comprehensive eye exam, the service I received has been first-rate and patient-centric. I appreciate how the entire staff is open to answering your questions while at the same time explaining in detail all the procedures being done. This same level of care is also provided on the optical side of the practice where the staff do their best to ensure that you leave a very satisfied customer.
