I am their # fan...Years ago I was raised to buy my meat from there.Where it's located, there once was a Rice Grocery Store that was on the same street as Johnson's Funeral Home. We would walk and shop at Jim's. Well that was almost 20 years ago, now with a awesome husband and 3 hungry & gifted but still growing young men our income isn't getting any larger.The entire staff treats you with a smile and there's always plenty of laughter. They make you feel like part of the family. Once you drive up, there is always a friendly greeting from the most sweetest cashier's I've ever met especially Ms.Kim. Every single person in the meat department deserves bonus pay but the entire staff deserves raises.Their Homemade Boudain and Dirty Rice from Ms Annie or Mr Johnny is to die for. During the holidays I 've gotten my fried turkeys from here..order early so you won't miss out. The meat is always fresh and of great quality especially their steak.Buy the steak you won;t be disappointed. I never am.The prices aren't so bad compared to the only 2 grocery stores (Fiesta and HEB) when sometimes you can't get there. I love grocery store in walking distants and Jim's the place.I now reside in SW Houston Alief area but once a month I make it my business first to drag my sister along for her household. She purchases a #4 meat pack, she loves it but I purchase a #10 meat pack...that's a lot of meat. I need and must have meat (nearly 70lbs)like this for my growing family. I can't say enough about the place other than to say Thank You to every employee at Jim's.For the record, Personally I feel Mr Jim's (or the owner)really treat his staff with respect & fairness because it shows in their attitudes daily once you enter this store. It's always a pleasure shopping there and knowing these days there are still down-home neighborhood grocery store that still care about their own staff, customers and community. At Jim's...They really Care!!! (Hint:You should use this for your slogan). I AM ONE SATISFIED CUSTOMER...they deserve 5 STARS because that's what they are. horrible store tried to use my kroger points to buy gas receipt said I saved 10cents per gallon gave the clerk 100 dollars to fill up clerk rang up 97 dollars on receipt when I questioned him he said the pump would go to 100 well the pump stopped at 97 whem i went to get my change he said no how…
The Food Town on 2770 Sam Houston Parkway has always been my number one place to get groceries. It will be even more so now. A day after Hurricane Ike rolled through Houston Food Town was open to the public for much needed supplies. Although the lines were long to get into the store it was done for a good reason. The managers and staff were in total control and everything went smooth. as soon as something went low the shelves were being restocked.I was able to find what I needed and get out with no problem. I even shopped for my sisters,brother and parents because there was nothing open in their areas. They later came to my house to get their supplies. Now my sister is able to come from her home all the way here to shop at Food Town.Thanks for being there when we truly needed you Food Town.
Let's just say, that this location has great service except for the older woman that works behind the counter on the early ( 6:15 a.m.) shift. Her demeaner is horrible.. I was prepaying my gas with a $100 bill. My SUV takes over $ 75 to fill up. I was driving on fumes....She told me that she couldn't break the bill because she didn't have change. I was NOT asking for change..I was paying for gas.... That woman has a problem and everyone has noticed it! Valero needs to put her in her place. That woman was working this morning at 6:15 with another co-worker. The other woman had no problem giving out change for purchases ; this one DID! More people need to complaint to the manager at this location.. thanks.
