This school is the best high school I could ever have chosen to attend. It's a brand new school, and I am part of the first class. We get to participate in college prep classes and in a work study program where we work at corporate companies like, banks, law firms, hospitals and so on. Of course any CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL will be strict, but not overly strict. You get into trouble when you are doing something WRONG. We do have a growing sports program, featuring everything except football, but we are starting a flag football team next year. The school is constantly being renovated and improved. New lockers, new desks, new floors, etc. The teachers' lounge was also recently renovated to include TVs and a pool table, BUT the only reason that it was renovated was because the school won a Gallery Furniture competition that gave the school furniture for the TEACHERS LOUNGE. And personally, as a current student, I don't mind this at all. I love my teachers, and they deserve to at least have a nice place to be between classes, since a lot of them put in up to 15 hours a day being with us and helping us with whatever we need. If you're looking for a high school to JUST play sports at, then you shouldn't come here, because at crj, were all about getting into college and having a successful career. This school offers SOOOO many more opportunities compared to other high schools, not only the work study program, but also numerous field trips, clubs, teams, college trips, free tutoring, volunteer opportunities and much more. What I really like is that at my school, students have a voice. Every teacher and staff member knows you personally. And finally, Cristo Rey didn't Brainwash me OR my parents into anything. The only thing they brainwashed me into doing is being a more successful, responsible, and diligent student. I think that many more students should be "brainwashed" into believing that they can be whoever they want to be if they only try their best at all they do. I genuinely love my school, and I wouldn't want to be at any other high school but this one.

When my daughter was 2 it was time to move from home care with her grandmother to a daycare for the experience to grow and learn and socialize with other kids. Like most mothers I do not make the decision of choosing child care easily, nothing but the best would do. I found Joy after doing a lot of research and visiting many centers in the area. I knew Joy was the best place by far after my very first visit and there was no other place I would ever consider again. My daughter has loved the center and everyone there since day one, even when it was hard for me to leave her that day, worried it would be difficult for her to adjust, she just waved and said "Bye Mom" then ran off to play. The teachers are all very loving, patient, attentive and absolutely great with the kids. It's very clean and safe and has a fantastic, structured curriculum that doesn't compare to any other daycare I have ever seen. It has been 3 1/2 years now and my daughter is finally starting kindergarten already knowing how to read and write on a first grade level! My husband and I feel very blessed to have found Joy, Ms. Cher and Mr. Mel and all the wonderful teachers who have helped shape my baby girl into such a smart, well mannered and genuinely happy child. Thankfully we live close by and she will attend the local elementary school so she will most likely be staying at Joy until she is too old to go anymore :-)
We've had our 5 and 7 year old at this day care for a year now, and my wife and I are very happy we enrolled them. We previously had them at a church day-care down the road and it seems like all they did was color all day, children had nothing to say about their day. If you're a few minutes late everyone gives you a rude look, not understanding you just spent the last 1.5 hrs in traffic driving from the galleria area. I was fine paying the fee for each minute I was late, but don’t be rude about it. The Montessori has friendly staff; they let us know about any events that happened with our children even if it’s a minor incident. The kiddos tell us about reading, writing, and number activities they did during day care which is great to hear. The owner is awesome, so friendly, willing to work with you; she even paid for me to attend a summer field trip with one of our children. Their hours are more realistic especially for parents that have full time job, so they don’t strictly follow school holidays. I feel like they took their clients schedule into consideration, not all of us are off for teacher in-service/minor holidays. The day-care provides real food for all day care, which is really nice when the kids say how delicious their lunch was and they ate all their food. Price is very reasonable, and I don’t mind paying any price knowing our kids are in good hands.
