I recently had Sampson Ironworks to come my home and install burglar bars. The process was very pleasant. The owner Victor came out to my home and discussed the different options with me. We talked about the fire escape exit types available for the bed rooms, styles of the bars, designs of entry doors, installation method, external/internal bars and available colors. He was very informative and patient with all my questions. He reviewed my home and gave me his recommendations. At the end of our first appointment, he gave me a quote and asked me to let him know. Being a good consumer, I had two other burglar bar companies come out and give me quotes. One company was cheaper and the other was more expensive. Sampson Iron works was the middle of the road. I called Victor and let him know I would like to proceed with my installation. He was back out at my home the very next day. He measured all the windows and doors, brought samples of the fire escape exit for me to review, let me pick a color from a very wide selection of colors, and took my check for half the quoted price. He let me know he would need five business days to complete the work in his shop. During our conversations, I learned that Victor fabricates and paints all the equipment in his shop. He is an experienced welder and takes pride in his work. Five business days later, I got all call from Victor letting me know that my bars were ready and they could come out any time to do the installation. They were at my house the next day for the installation. Victor and two of his employees did all the installation work. The installation process was very efficient. They unloaded each section to be installed, one at a time, and placed them at each window within the home. They took extreme care not to damage anything within my home. The installation process took approximately 5 hours. That’s installation of burglar bars on 8 windows and 3 doors. They used non-reversible screws and predrilled all the holes. All the bars were well painted with commercial oil base paint. I picked an off white color to match my curtains. Each window section was secured into the wall from the sides and the base of the window. There was enough room at the top that it was not necessary to adjust my pull down shades. The installation of each door was recessed into the door jam and with two dead bolts per door. The front door included a turn door handle, along with the two dead bolts, and decorative designs (which was free of charge). Once all the bars were installed, they pained each screw used on the installation the same color as the bars. They vacuumed each work area, replaced curtains that needed to be moved, and took care to make sure everything was back into its’ place. One of window installations near my TV. They didn’t need to move it and were very careful. Once everything was done, Victor did a walk through with me and gave me the keys to my new security doors. As said, each door had two dead bolts. These dead bolts are designed to be tamper resistant and cannot be unscrewed without a key. All the dead bolts were keyed alike for my convenience . Victor had offered to key them the same as my house key, but I opted to take on the new key. I consider having the same key for everything about as wise as using the same password for everything. When they left my home I felt really good about the money spent. Do I sleep better at night? Your darn right. To receive a well designed product coupled with first class service is rare these days. The only good way I could really thank Victor for his excellent work was to write this review. In knowing that, I took the extra time to let people know that if you’re in South East Texas and in the market for burglar bars, Sampson Ironworks is the way to go. They service from the Greater Houston Area to the Louisiana border. My only regret in getting to know Victor is that I’ll only get to do business with him again is if I move.

Best Contractor Experience Ever Over the past few years crime has increased a great deal in our area and we decided to increase our home security. We started with upgrading our alarm system, then with a considerable amount of hesitation, decided to get burglar bars. We were reluctant to do this for two reasons: First and most important, we have had some very negative experiences with a few different contractors in the past few years (not related to burglar/security bars), covering all of the typical reasons; substandard materials, unsatisfactory craftsmanship, grossly exceeding quoted time of completion and cost, dishonesty/lack of communication, etc. The second, less important reason was aesthetics – simply stated, we have always found burglar bars to be tacky in appearance. Victor Sampson is one of the nicest, most easy going men I've had the pleasure to meet. We met with him in our home and were delighted to never get the feeling we were dealing with a salesman as we had in all previous experiences. Victor listened to and addressed our concerns, gave us a quote we accepted and returned in a couple of weeks for the installation. Everything was done as promised, without hassle or misinformation, and was completed in an even shorter time frame than we were prepared for. The quality was top notch, each set of bars fit the doors and windows they were designed for perfectly and were painted a matching color (suggested by Victor to match our blinds and front door) so the bars almost disappear when viewing from the distance of the street or sidewalk. The finished product is not the least bit tacky, as we feared it might be. It blends almost seemlessly. Victor even made a special trip for a minor adjustment to the locks per our request a month after the installation was complete and refused to take a dime from us for his trip, time and service. We are very pleased with our experience with Sampson Iron Works, are very happy to have met Victor and will recommend all of our friends and family to him, and would recommend anyone out there that needs an additional level of home or business security to call Victor Sampson.
Samson Iron Works did an exceptional job installing a burglar bar on my glass paneled back door after an attempted burglary. Two men broke into my downstairs bedroom during the early evening hours while I was home on the third floor watching TV. Fortunately, they did not get anything as I frightened them away, but it could have been much worst had they had weapons or if I hadn't been at home. After that occurance, I did not feel safe, even with an alarm. I called Samson and he was very helpful with my questions toward security. I chose the style door I wanted which he installed on the day he promised. I was so impressed by the appearance of the burglars bars and with the feeling of security instantly returning, I have ordered another Burglar bar for my front door as it is also glass paneled. Unfortunately, we live in a world where crime is up and the police can only do so much to protect us. I see it on the news every night with the crime rates going up in certain areas of Houston but couldn't imagine that ever happening to me. After the attempted burglary on my home, it was up to me to protect myself to the best of my ability. Feeling secure in my home once again is priceless. You won't be disappointed with Samson's work, knowledge and personal service he delivers. I highly recommend Samson Iron Works and intend to pass his cards out to my neighbors and to anyone else who may need extra security. Sincerely, Harry De Borde
