Motel 6

We made a reservation for this room on a booking website that listed among the room features "sofa and seating area". This was perfect for our group (three women, one man) as we didn't want to share sleeping space with someone who wasn't the same gender. There were two of the women with me (hold on, this is relevant later) when we went to check in.



I had originally booked the room for three people, but changed the booking to hold four people after the booking website assured me the price would be the same and our male associate needed a place to stay during our work trip. This was apparently a great bother to the manager that checked us in as I heard her complaining about it, and we had the NERVE to request a fridge. This must have ruined her view of us because she was nothing but rude to us from our entry. But snotty service aside, we did get our room.



We were quite surprised to see a room without a sofa, so we called the front desk to see about being moved or borrowing a cot. The manager said there were no sofas or cots available, despite what the reservation said. So I got on the phone with the booking site, and they in turn spent twenty minutes on the phone with her to ask about the couch that only existed in writing. The booking site agent said that they considered the sofa to be an office chair and wasn't meant for sleeping. And she also tried to claim that w had five people staying with us and all were checking in at the desk. Either she's a liar or can't count or see.



Anyway, back to sofa/chair. This was no ordinary office chair. Judging from the stains and thin cushioning, it may have sort of been used for...something...but it sure as all get out was no sofa.



If their listing on the site wasn't flat out wrong, I might have been more put out by the lack of basic amenities of shampoo, towels for everyone, Kleenex, or even the lack of unpleasant smell. I might even give more annoyance to the spotty wifi. But sometimes your perspective is forced to change by an ill-mannered woman who pretends not to know about furniture or how to count.

Awful!!! The desk clerk was pleasant... the only decent aspect of my 24 minutes at this hotel. The rugs were badly stained and looked dirty. I was given the key to Rm 130 which was occupied and then given the key to Rm 149 a non- smoking room at the end of a smokey hall way. When I walked into the room I was assailed by a funky odor ?mold?? the carpets were stained and the upholstery on the loveseat in this room was worn and dirty. I decided to check the bed...the top sheet was fine but the bottom sheet was wrinkled and the mattress pad was bunched up..It looked like someone had slept on this bed. I also checked the bathroom and found that there was no showerhead on the shower...the water just flowed out of the pipe. I told the front desk clerk who then looked for a spare showerhead! -- evidently rooms without showerheads were common.... I told her that I believed that hte bottom bed sheet was not changed...she looked at it and told me that the sheet was clean... I asked to be moved to yet another room and was told that the only non smoking room available was on the 2nd floor...I had specificalluy requested a 1st floor room because of knee pain. I requested a refund and was refused. AVOID THIS PLACE ...SLEEPING IN A CAR IS BETTER THAN STAYING HERE!!!!!
