We had unplanned auto repair done at Delcarpine Automotive Repair when are car broke down in Hood River Oregon on our return to Wisconsin. When AAA roadside assistance had a long wait time I contacted Delcarpine and they offered suggestions for towing service and began service work once our car was towed. Melissa was so kind to suggest overnight hotel, made special arrangements to pick up parts from Honda dealership in nearby town, brought our bags to hotel and gave us a ride to pick up car when service was complete the next day. The service of Delcarpine was EXCEPTIONAL! In addition they were friendly and helpful to us as strangers to the community. The repair was timely, fair priced and if I lived in Hood River area they would be my full time auto service site. They are 5 Stars in my book. We were on the road in less than 24 hours. Our experience in Hood River was so positive that we will visit the area every time we pass by. Thank you.

Definitely did NOT meet expectations!

Mixed reviews within the Columbia Gorge and Hood River community regarding DelCarpine integrity, but tried them anyway for an airbag light issue on a VW Beetle. A few hours estimate turned into nearly a week with no loaner car and more than $400 invoiced. Airbag light was off, but car was filthy after being left with the convertible top down.

Several weeks later, the airbag light pops on again and DelCarpini insists on relying solely on computer fault codes to substantiate an additional $800 repair proposal. Seriously? How do sensors provide fault codes to the computer? Wire harnesses and connectors! Why weren't those checked?

Obviously DelCarpine techs were the last ones to touch it and missed or exacerbated the actual cause that first time. They now claim no interest in root cause analysis, process improvement and will not warranty or accept responsibility for their original flawed diagnosis.

Final analysis and proper diagnosis processing by their higher-rated and higher-demand competitor identified two loose driver side wire harness connections had triggered the fault codes. No parts required, less than twelve minutes to correct, and another lost opportunity by DelCarpine to cultivate a new customer with a professional network of nearly 250k colleagues and associates that will gladly hear of this experience to enable informed decision making.

Definitely did not meet expectations.
