The United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawaii is a nonprofit, volunteer health organization that strives to positively affect the quality of life for children and adults with cerebral palsy. It provides support for families in the form of case management, information, referrals and emotional support. The organization commits additional resources toward public awareness programs designed to prevent cerebral palsy and minimize its effects. It also operates the UCP Child Development Center, which caters to children up to three years of age. The United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawaii is part of a nationwide network of approximately 150 state and local affiliates that provide services, conduct public and professional education programs and support research in cerebral palsy. UCPA of Hawaii has provided services in the islands since 1959.
