Queen Kapi olani endowed Kapi olani Health with the motto Kulia I Ka Nu u, which means Strive for the Highest. Kapi olani Health, a hospital in the Hawaii Pacific Health System, develops and promotes health care services and programs dedicated to enhancing the health and well being of the people of Hawaii, the Pacific Basin and the Pacific Rim. The hospital features the Kapi olani Medical Center for Women and Children on Oahu, which is the states only specialty care facility for women and children, and is a major teaching facility affiliated with the University of Hawaii. Kapi olani also features the Kapi olani Medical Center at Pali Momi, a community-based acute care hospital that provides a broad range of services including the only Retina Center in the state and the only cardiac unit in Leeward Oahu. Established in 1890, Kapi olani has headquarters in Honolulu.
