S. TANAKA CONSTRUCTION WAS FOUNDED IN THE YEAR 1984 BY SHINYA TANAKA. The company started in a rented office/warehouse on Ward Avenue. Although the physical appearance was a bit humble compared to others, S. Tanaka almost immediately began making a name for itself by building homes for its customers providing quality and service. Focusing initially on the medium residential market of new homes, the company also began working on additions and renovations. This effort really began to pay off when S. Tanaka relocated to Kalihi to a 5,000 sq. ft. office/warehouse built in 2000. Business began to grow as customer demand increased. S. Tanaka would be looked to as one of the most trusted builders on Oahu. Office hours are 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. However, these hours are like most clients’ hours; therefore, appointments can be made in the evenings and as well on the weekends. Even on Sundays! Schedules are made to accommodate the clients’ schedule and not the company’s. S. Tanaka Construction has had its doors open for 32 years, and will continue to keep its doors open to provide the best quality and service to our existing and loyal customers, as well as the new generation to come!
