I am a true animal lover with all my heart.... If you are like me or have very little love for your pets PLEASE, PLEASE do not take them to this place to get them tortured, traumatized, or even put to death!!
The doctor in ACF is pure evil in disguise. Please google this place and read every review about them to find about what this place is all about.
~God Bless you all
Do not take your beloved pets to this establishment. I would have given zero or negative star if I could. I share the same experience like most people had posted.
After 3 years, I am still disgusted with how my cat was treated when I took her to Animal Care Foundation to get a regular check-up and how my cat died a month later because of the fluid treatment that the vet ordered for her. The fluid treatment was supposed to help my cat's weakening kidneys but it ended up weakening my cat's heart (confirmed by a second opinion). I shouldn't have listened to Animal Care Foundation's vet at the first place to start the fluid treatment on my cat. The vet even threatened and told me that it would be me who kill my cat when I sensed something was really wrong and wanted to stop the fluid treatment and take my cat home.
This vet at Animal Care Foundation appears to care about your pets but she really doesn't. All she cares about is to milk more money from you. Do NOT take your pets there so you won't regret like I do.
NO STARS... DONT DO IT! DONT GO THERE. ITS THE SMELLIEST, GROSSEST, WORST VET IN HAWAII. SAVE YOUR FURRY FRIEND, PAY THE EXTRA AND GO TO A REAL VET. this place will give your animal fleas, ringworm, or death. Dr Sabina De Giacoma will never take responsibilty.

5 Stars to all the posts here and not to ACF, for ACF zero Stars. Mahalo nui loa. I was so totally thinking of bringing my 3 month old pup and a 4 year old dog for Neutering. Thanks to this post, I'm so not driving that far to get bad news about my own pet. This is crazy. I'll just wait for this ""hiatus"" with The Hawaiian Humane Society and get a certificate for $$$ then paying a visit to ACF. Just not well. Hewa! Hewa!

Last Friday (4/13/12)...we had an extremely traumatizing experience with one of our furry kids. We took our healthy cat in to be neutered at AFC. Several hours later we were notified that she was fine and cleared to be picked up. We we running late and arrived there at 8:05 pm and found the gate and elevator into the building locked. For 15 minutes +, we called both the office numbers as well as the emergency numbers repeatedly...no answer. Thankfully, the building superintendent saw us and opened the gate. My fiance went directly into the office where the tech said only this: I need your ID for the medication, this is your bill and there is your cat. When he brought her out of the office, It was clearly evident that she was in major distress. She was completely unresponsive, tongue hanging out of her mouth, gums white, eyes half opened and fully dilated and cold!!! Again we called both the office and the emergency number to no avail. We immediately headed to another animal hospital, unfortunately within 10 minutes of leaving the AFC she stopped breathing while in my arms. Nevertheless, we sped to the animal hospital to see if she could be saved. After an extensive examination (necropsy) by the second doctor, it was determined that she died from internal bleeding. He found that there was no sign of a suture on the left side of her uterus and only one on the right side. We were told that blood had already pooled on one side of her body causing discoloration which indicated to me that her bleeding was not sudden. Needless to say, the sorrow of losing her only ignited my ire. Upon speaking with Dr, Di Giacomo, she attempted to deflect responsibility then and continues to do so now even after the presented with the findings of the second doctor. As far as I'm concerned, this horrific experience could only be due to negligence on the part of the AFC. Long story short: DON'T EVER TAKE YOUR FURRY LOVED ONES TO ANIMAL CARE FOUNDATION because this may happen to you!!!

They attempted to scare me with with the worst case scenarios and wanted me to do a diognostic for almost $2000. The vet is evil and will attempt to extort money from you by playing on your fear and sadness, they definetly didn't care about my pet... I took my sweetie and left immediately after i realized their motive, I knew she wasn't going to get better in that environment. I WISH I HAD LISTENED TO OTHERS ABOUT THIS PLACE!!!!!

This is the WORST and most unprofessional vet practice I have ever come across. We chose this vet based on convenience of location and really regret that decision now. Prepare for your pet to be muzzled and to be told that you can't go back to the examining room with your pet. So if you are looking to traumatize your pet ... this is where you take them!

I went to this clinic one time and will never go back. First of all, they kept me and my very nervous dog waiting for 45 minutes in the waiting roon. Then my dog's entire exam and treatment was performed in the back room. I like very much to be a part of my dog's plan of care, however, at this clinic I felt pushed to the side. The Vet I saw had the worst bed side manner I have ever encountered. My husband and I both thought that she didn't even like animals by the way she was acting. If you love your pet this is not the place for you!!! Pros: nothing Cons: everything

What KIND of a woman did I leave my kitty with???? One day perhaps I can forgive you, but never myself for the part I played in what my cat must have suffered at your hands. I had him to a vet 3 times in less than a week and then came to you for second opinion. I brought the xays and bloodwork to show you. You agreed there was an obstruction in the bowel. You said you could sometimes get it to pass if you gave a warm IV of water and force fed him. No mention of danger in treatment. I overlooked that little voice inside me as your demeaner was giving off bad vibes. I left my sweet kitty and you called in 2 days to say he died. and I was charged with a bill of $800!! Not that I care about the money, I would've given $1000s if my sweet angel was still alive.

Do not take your animal to this Facility, they really do not care about their health. Don't do the same mistake as I did, my dog died because of them!

This is litteraly the worst animal hospital ever.. I am a vet technician in a different hospital in the same area, and our hospital (Cannot disclose name) have been receiving NUMEROUS customers coming from this place, and their animals always mistrated, misguided inorder to make more money out of the Owners.\r \r I also have to say this, 'Sabrina Giacomo' is the most unprofessional Veterinery you can ever see. GO Somewhere else but this place, Don't let that 'Animal Care Foundation' fool you, they certainly do not care nothing but your money.\r \r IF YOU HAVE A LITTLE LOVE FOR ANIMALS, DO NOT GO THERE!

This is a no kill facility. that means that whether imperfect or unadopted the animal lives. They are also against cages for their animals. It is a little crazy since the kitties are roaming throughout the office, but it also gives you more ability to see how a potential adoptee will relate to other animals and free space. It is a nonprofit location as well. So if they rely on fund raising and income from services and adoptions to continue services. It is a great place to find a great companion.

Visited this establishment to adopt a cat. Found an adorable black, 6-month cat to adopt and filled out the 4-page adoption papers. Visited facility 3 times to study and interact with the potential adoptee cat and to inspect facility and staff members. Received a phone call advising that black cats can't be adopted until after Halloween in order to prevent the possibility of satanic, sacrificial ritual on the potential cat. I was attempting to adopt a cat in September. I did not see any written warnings or received any word of this policy during the application process or during my three visits that I couldn't adopt a black cat until after Halloween. I was advised to check back after the 31st and my chances to adopt this black cat would be increased. I was advised that this was a policy and they didn't want to show discrimination to let me adopt but not others. They certainly displayed satanic profiling on me?! I was advised that I could adopt any of the other non-black cats, just not the black cats. I highly commend their no-kill efforts, but I'm highly disappointed in their sensibility. In general, the demand to adopt black cats are far less as compared to other non-black cats; so, this is just another hurdle in the adoption process for black cats. I will look at other avenues to adopt a rescue cat; and hopefully, the other establishment and their staff members will have a little more sensibility to recognize a far-fetched possibility from reality in potential adopters. \r \r \r

After determining my dog has an ear infection. They did not have the prescription medication available. I have been calling them for 3 weeks now and the medication is still not in. They manage to charge me for it on my exam bill. I get the run around every time, it coming in from the mainland, the supplier is out. \r \r
THEY ARE RADICALS THAT SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS.
REPUTABLE GROUPS AVOID THEM. THEY HAVE THEIR OWN AGENDA AND ARE VINDICTIVE.
PETS SHOULD BE VEGETARIAN... ARE YOU KIDDING?
IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PET, PLEASE VISIT A REPUTABLE SHELTER. THERE ARE MANY ANIMALS THERE WAITING FOR HOMES.... WHILE THIS GROUP RANTS AND RAVES.
They are known to be a radical group here on the island. Most other reputable rescue groups will have nothing to do with them. Among other things, they require that their animals be vegetarian - after 8000 years!. They don't accept money for their pets (it's against their principles), but accept part of other groups adoptions fees for "services rendered" (seems very hypocritical, right). They were known for their rescue services, but are now turning away animals and groups in large numbers.
If you don't do things their way, they are known to be very vindictive (protests at Hawaiian Humane Society fundraisers - like they don't take enough crap, and a variety of other venues) and put their own interests ahead of the animals.
Please visit any of the other shelters on Oahu.... somewhere that they put the animals first, not their own program.
