SST performance is the best transmission shop around. Reverse on my 2003 Honda Accord was not working. After a diagnostic scan showed the problem to be possibly transmission solenoids, I sought the help of the Honda dealership in Scranton and many other garages and transmission shops, but they all told me my transmission was gone and would need to be rebuilt or replaced. With a price tag of 3,500 dollars I knew I was not going to sink that kind of money into an almost 10 year old car. After talking with a co-worker about my car problem he suggested I try SST performance because of their experience and honesty. I took his advice and right from the start i could tell i was dealing with mechanics who really knew what they were talking about. I was so impressed with their extensive knowledge and willingness to help I drove my car without reverse and in fail safe (limp) mode all the way from Scranton to Honesdale. It was absolutely worth the drive because two days later I received a call that the car was fixed. Shocked I could not believe that I did not need a new transmission and that it was only going to cost me a little more than 350 dollars. These guys saved me over 3,000 dollars. With nowhere left to turn these guys really saved the day. I am forever grateful. Definitely an honest and reputable business. Would absolutely recommend this transmission shop to everyone.

We had an excellent experience with SST Performance. We had to take our nine year old Mazda Tribute back to the dealership because of a recall. As expected, they performed the recall work then (Surprise! Surprise!), found that we needed a $600+ repair to a leaky seal on our rear axle. We opted for a second opinion. We took the car to a local Honesdale mechanic who confirmed that we had a leak, but estimated the repair at closer to $300. In the end, he was unable to do the repair, but recommended Sal at SST Performance, "a good guy" and "a good mechanic". We got to SST late Friday afternoon on a holiday weekend. Sal set us up with the earliest appointment on Tuesday for an evaluation and ordered the part that day. By Thursday, we had the Tribute back at 1/3 the cost estimated by the dealership. Additionally, Sal went way above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that we had transportation to get the car to the shop and back without a second car. He's capable, friendly, flexible and helpful...a real professional. On top of that, as a former Marine, he and his wife also coordinate the local chapter of Toys for Tots. Bravo! We'll definitely be back and recommend you give SST a try.
