Primary Care

Electrocardiogram
Prior to surgery you may be asked to get a medical clearance from your primary care physician. You may need to get blood work and or an EKG prior to surgery. You may also be asked to stop certain medications prior to surgery to minimize your risk of complications.

Pregnancy
Labor and Delivery
The size, shape, and color of the labia vary significantly from female to female. The labia minora may vary in size from one side to the other, they may be hidden under the labia majora, or they may be visible. Childbirth and aging may change the size, shape, and color of the labia.

Endoscopy
Brow lift, also known as forehead lift, is a surgical procedure that tightens or alters the forehead and eyebrow regions to smooth the forehead, raise the upper eyebrows, and improve frown lines. Advances in brow lift surgery make it possible to perform the procedure through a variety of approaches, including endoscopy. Brow lift surgery is individualized for each patient. The surgical incisions used may vary with the technique selected by you and Dr. Johnson to meet your needs.

Mental Health
Provide us with a letter of support from your mental health provider. The letter must state how long you have been in therapy, the diagnosis of gender dysphoria, the duration of time you have been living full-time as the desired gender and the therapist's opinion regarding your readiness for surgery. The letter must be signed by the care provider.

Ear Surgery
Ear surgery, improves the size, shape, or position of your ears. It can correct a deformity you were born with or a deformity caused by an injury. In adults, earlobe repair may be desired to close up the holes from the practice known as earlobe gauging or stretching of the earlobe. This may also be referred to as earlobe reduction surgery. Many women have damaged earlobes from wearing heavy earrings (stretched piercing) or from an earring being ripped from the earlobe (split earlobe). As we age earlobes may lose collagen and begin to sag, accentuating holes from earrings. In children, an otoplasty is commonly performed before they start school to prevent ridicule from other children. Botox
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a nonsurgical treatment that temporarily reduces moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. Very low doses of BOTOX® Cosmetic are administered via a few tiny injections into the muscles. BOTOX® relaxes muscles to decrease the appearance of wrinkles in the injected areas. Brow Lift
When you book a brow lift surgery consultation, there is a $100 consultation fee. If you choose to have surgery with Dr. Johnson the $100 will go towards the surgical fee.
Eyelid Surgery
When you book an eyelid surgery consultation, there is a $100 consultation fee. If you choose to have surgery with Dr. Johnson the $100 will go towards the surgical fee.
Liposuction
Liposuction is a surgical procedure to remove unwanted deposits of fat from specific areas of the body including the face, neck, upper arms, trunk, abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs, knees, calves and ankles. The best candidates for liposuction are individuals of relatively normal weight who have excess fat in particular body areas. There are a variety of surgical techniques for liposuction. These procedures include, but are not limited to, suction-assisted lipectomy and tumescent liposuction.
Breast Augmentation
Male to female breast augmentation, or MTF top surgey, procedures shape male breasts to female. Implants are placed under your chest muscle to provide fuller, firmer, female breasts. Prior to scheduling your surgery, we will require a letter from your therapist documenting how long you have been in therapy. A minimum of 3 months of therapy is required. Breast Reduction
Reduction mammaplasty is a surgical procedure that removes fat, glandular tissue, and skin from the breasts, making them smaller, lighter, and firmer. It can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. There are a variety of surgical techniques for breast reduction. The technique, along with surgical approach will depend on your preferences, your anatomy and your surgeon's recommendation. The goal is to give the you smaller, better-shaped breasts in proportion with the rest of her body.
Breast Lift
Breast lift, or mastopexy, surgery firms, raises the breasts, tightens surrounding tissue, and removes excess skin to help reshape and support a new breast contour.
Rhinoplasty
Nose job, is a surgical procedure that changes the appearance and structure of the nose. Rhinoplasty can reduce or increase the size of your nose, change the shape of the tip, narrow the width of the nostrils, or change the angle between the nose and the upper lip. This operation can also help correct birth defects and nasal injuries. There is not a universal type of rhinoplasty surgery that will meet the needs of every patient. Rhinoplasty surgery is customized for you, depending on your desired outcome.
Breast Reconstruction
Breast Reconstruction is a surgical procedure used to reconstruct the breast mound after a mastectomy. There are a variety of surgical techniques for breast reconstruction. Some Breast Reconstruction procedures include TRAM Flap, Tissue Expander with implant, and Latissimus Muscle Flap.

Thigh Lift
Thighplasty, removes unwanted excess skin and improves the contour of the upper thighs. For optimal results, you should be at an ideal body weight. If you are actively losing weight, we recommend your weight be stable before having a thigh lift.
Face Lift
A facelift improves the signs of aging. If you have sagging skin of the face, deep wrinkles, loss of muscle volume, displaced fat, and/or jowls, you may benefit from a facelift.
Neck Lift
A neck lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure that helps restore the natural curves of your neck and eliminates the sagging jowls and loose neck skin. As we age, the skin and muscles of the neck lose their tone and elasticity. A neck lift tightens the deeper structures and redrapes the neck skin to give you a fresher, more youthful look. Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty, sometimes called eye lid lift or eyelid rejuvenation, is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and muscle from both the upper and lower eyelids. Underlying fatty tissue that produces bagginess can be selectively removed or repositioned. Blepharoplasty can improve drooping skin and bagginess. It can help improve vision in older patients who have hooding of their upper eyelids. Blepharoplasty will not remove "crow’s feet" or other wrinkles, eliminate dark circles under the eyes, or lift sagging eyebrows.
Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fatty tissue from the middle and lower abdomen and to tighten muscles of the abdominal wall. Abdominoplasty is not a surgical treatment for being overweight. Nose Surgery
The first few days you may have discomfort or a pressure feeling of the nose and face. The extent of the procedure performed determines the amount of discomfort that you have. You are sent home on pain medications which will decrease your discomfort. You will have bruising and swelling of the nose and face. We will recommend that you ice the area for the first 72 hours to help minimize swelling. We will see you about one week after surgery to remove the nasal splint and evaluate your healing process. We request that you do no strenuous exercise for at least four weeks after surgery.
Body Lift
The goal of a body lift procedures is to improve the tone and shape of tissue beneath the skin by removing excess fat and skin.
Breast Surgery
Other patients seek breast contouring or breast reduction procedures due to back pain or other issues related to having large breasts. Dr. Johnson also performs reconstructive breast surgery for breast cancer patients. She does both immediate reconstruction at the time of mastectomy as well as delayed reconstruction options. Otoplasty
Yes, there are risks with any surgical procedure. Some of the possible risks with an otoplasty are pain, infection, bruising, swelling, wound healing complications, bleeding, numbness of the skin, asymmetry of the ears, unsatisfactory results or scars that may require a revision surgery.
Scar Revision
If you have an old scar that you don’t like, there may be options to minimize its appearance or to improve its texture. These can include scar revision surgery, injectable treatments, or non-invasive laser scar treatments and topical applications. A scar can never be completely erased. The goal is to make it less noticeable.
Lip Augmentation
Restylane® is an injectible FDA approved dermal filler for mid-dermal applications such as deep wrinkle correction, lip augmentation, nasolabial fold correction, and for glabellar creases. Restylane products include Restylane®, Restylane-L®, Restylane® Silk, Perlane®, and Perlane-L®. Restylane, Restylane-L, Perlane, and Perlane-L can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Restylane, Restylane-L and Restylane Silk may also be used for lip enhancement in patients over 21 years. Restylane Silk can be used to treat lip lines in patients over 21 years. Body Contouring
Brachioplasty is a surgical procedure that is used to help remove the excess skin and fatty tissue from the axilla and upper arm. Brachioplasty is not a surgical treatment for being overweight. Obese individuals who intend to lose weight should postpone all forms of body contouring surgery until they have reached a stable weight. Your preferences, anatomy and Dr. Johnson's recommendation will determine the technique and approach.

Recognized as the most effective program for post procedure skin management, designed for use after laser resurfacing procedures, chemical peels or any combined ablative treatment. Gynecomastia
Gynecomastia surgery, may be a good option for you. Gynecomastia can present unilaterally (one breast) or bilaterally (both breasts). The true cause of gynecomastia is unknown, but may be related to hormonal changes, heredity, disease, or the use of certain drugs.

Platysmaplasty on reputable internet sites such as the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery can be very informative to help provide an overview. However, the best information will be obtained by making an appointment and speaking with Dr. Johnson. At the time of your consultation it may also be helpful to review before and after photos of patients who have had the procedure. We will provide you with all the needed information for you to be able to make a comfortable, confident decision about having surgery. It's a good idea to write down any questions or concerns you have so they can be fully addressed at your consultation. Know what your surgical expectations are so Dr. Johnson can discuss them with you. If you are a smoker, we recommend you quit to help reduce the risk of wound healing complications. We also recommend a healthy lifestyle to help your recovery process.
Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion is a surgical procedure that helps even out the texture of your skin. Dermabrasion is most often used to improve the look of facial skin left scarred by accidents or previous surgery, or to smooth out fine facial wrinkles, such as those around the mouth. During your consultation, we will provide you with our expert opinion on whether you are a good candidate. We will discuss the surgical process along with any possible risks and complications of the surgery.
Bariatric Surgery
Bariatric Surgery Patients: Individual must be at least 18 months post-operative and have documented stable weight for at least 3-6 months.
Forehead Lift
Forehead lift, can help minimize creases on the forehead and high up on the bridge of the nose, help improve frown lines, and reposition a sagging brow.

They can help diminish the appearance of fine lines, age spots and other types of skin discolorations. While these treatments are non-invasive, they are not designed for home use. In Massachusetts, chemical peels are correctly considered medical procedures and must be performed by, or under the direction or supervision of, a licensed medical practitioner. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) recommends that this procedure be performed by a qualified plastic surgeon, such as Dr. Johnson, to avoid complications.
