Founded in 1950, The Crown Group is a component finishing company that serves the automotive industry. Its services include electrocoating, liquid topcoating in basecoat and clearcoat technology and powder topcoating in a variety of colors. It also provides other services, such as direct shipments to original equipment manufacturers, assembly, warehousing, labeling, packaging and sequencing operations. It operates more than five finishing facilities which together coat millions of components, including exterior trims, bumpers, roof racks, towing components, and underhood and chassis assemblies. The various coating technologies utilized by the company include pretreatment processes, powder applications, polyester powder technologies, spray applications and curing systems. Headquartered in Warren, Mich., its finishing facilities are located in Port Huron, Livonia and Detroit, Mich.; Portland, Tenn.; and Fort Wayne, Ind.
