Bad Business- Ted from Hoboken
Here is my story about Dave's auto parts. I have lived in Hoboken for 3 years, and brought my car to dave's about 7 times. I have had oil changes and inspections. This last time was THE LAST time for me though.
My car was having a small amount of trouble starting, so I brought it in. They told me I needed some work, and it would cost about 300 bucks. Okay, no biggie. Then they call me and said I needed more work, and it would take a day, and it would be 600 bucks. Okay, not happy, but fine.
So i get the car on Monday morning, and the CHECK ENGINE light is on. Okay, no big deal, maybe it just needs a second. Nope, they messed with the timing and my car was misfiring on all cylinders. So I had to drive it right back. The next day, the owner Dave tells me he "doesn't know" what is going on. He sent the car to another repair shop to undo and repair the shoddy job they did. KEEP IN MIND THEY TOLD ME THE CAR WAS READY, AND IT WAS MISFIRING AND HAD THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON.
The car was "gone" for another 3 days, after which I got it back and so far it seems okay.
When I went it to discuss the 675 dollars I paid for the priviledge, they did not refund $1, because "We paid for a new fuel pump and didn't charge me for it". Oh thanks Dave, thanks for not charging me to repair the damage YOU did to my car.
Never again, not recommended at ALL.
