        McVay Drilling Company was founded in 1941 by C.R. McVay and Carmen Stafford as McVay and Stafford Drilling Company, which featured rigs located in southeastern New Mexico. The company maintains its office in Hobbs, N.M., and has expertise in deep gas, directional and horizontal drilling. It operates five National Drilling Rigs between 7,000 and 18,500 feet, in southeastern New Mexico and west Texas. McVay Drilling Company is a member of the International Association of Drilling Contractors and employs approximately 120 people.
