Recreation and Community Services is a part of the City of Hialeah. It offers opportunities to participate in reading, art, dance and drama competitions for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. The department provides training sessions and swim lessons. Recreation and Community Services operates community centers that provide sports activities, such as tennis, volleyball, football, baseball, softball and basketball. It also maintains a playground area, theatre, dance studio and swimming pool. The department offers first aid and safety classes and various courses for adults, children and infants. The city features fire, police, law, community development, purchase and human resources departments.
