Tuckaway Child Development Center

I would love to talk to the previous poster, concerned parent, about your experiences as ours have been similar. I commented recently in their Facebook page about bullying. Please reach out.
Update: On 02/16/17, Tuckaway terminated their services with us. Our child (hf autism) has been bullied by another child in the same classroom since October 2016. After several meetings with the regional manager, owner and onsite staff, citing multiple examples (hitting, kicking, slapping, choking and daily taunts), they decided it was typical third grade behavior and that we could no longer work together due to "communication issues." They initially wanted to keep the credits we had on our account from prepayment but agreed to return those funds and put that agreement in writing. The owner removed my online review from the company's facebook page and has been attempting to contact us via facebook messenger to discuss "things we misunderstood." The child that has been bullying my son has been at the daycare since he was 2 and it seems like they honor the seniority of things over the safety of other, more vulnerable children in their care. I have several documents, notes and emails that detail the situation and we will be filing a complaint and seeking the advice of an attorney. This is not a great place for special needs children.

I do NOT recommend Tuckaway Barony. The current director, Katie, has NO idea what happens in the after school care program, and when you inquire about anything that happens, she doesn't have any idea. She is unprofessional and unqualified to be the director of anything. The summer camp is lame. While they have a pool and they do swim there, it's for about 1.5 hours per day and the rest of the time is basically spent sitting around. They promise "clubs" and when I ask my child about these clubs, it doesn't sound like they do much of anything. When you drop off your child in the morning, everyone is standing around and the staff looks as if they hate their jobs. If I worked here under Katie's "leadership" I would hate my job, too. If I could have given a zero-star rating I would have.

We took our young toddler to this location for 3 weeks and had an awful experience! Do NOT take your child here! Our son had a diaper rash weekly, cried every time we dropped him off and the teachers are incredibly rude and have no business taking care of children. I made several complaints to the director and none of them were ever followed up on. The final straw was when I picked my child up early on a Monday (unannounced) and when I brought him home, I immediately checked his diaper to find dried, crumbled, caked on diaper cream that appeared to not have been removed and reapplied all day! On top of this, he had literally little blisters on his bottom. I emailed a picture of the diaper to the director and we immediately withdrew him from the center.

Since then, we have enrolled him in an outstanding center, and has not had ONE diaper rash, never cries and is completely happy! Think twice before putting your child here.

The place is fine, but just as the other says, some employees are rude. Especially their current director. One day my son just vomit once when he stepped into the classroom. Then we left the day care and went to hospital. we got confirmation and proof from doctor that he didn't get any virus or strap, he vomit because he ate something cold. That day they have a sing along event for Christmans , at the first I talked with the director , she said it is fine to let my son in for 10 minutes just for sing along . Later she said no she can not let my son arround other kids. I expalined his situation and said he will not affect other kids, The sing along is important to my son and us. She talked like she is quarreling with me and very very rude! She even put off the phone when we have not finish our conversation. This is not professtional. I will not recommend to other people this daycare.
